OK, ITT we list our favorite MIXED drinks, thAt us what do you like when not drinking a beer or straight whiskey?

My favorite is far and away a Manhattan.

I also like an Improved Whiskey Cocktail (sort of a combination of a Manhattan and an Old Fashioned).

Also a big fan of a Gin and Tonic, and the occasional Greyhound.

Rye Manhattan with a better than average vermouth (Formula Antica is a good example). No cherry or cherry juice. Bitters are a must. Never shaken. I don't want a frothy Manhattan.

Gin and tonic. In that order. Sapphire or Tanqueray most of the time. Hendricks with a cucumber anytime.

Greyhound with fresh grapefruit juice occasionally.

A Negroni or Sazerac are fantastic, but only at the right bar. Actually this is also true for Manhattans and Greyhounds as well. Old man drinks but I don't care.

Mostly a straight scotch or rye guy, but I love a good vodka tonic when it's hot. Go through spells when a good dirty martini (bleu cheese stuffed olives) is all I'll want. W. E. B. Griffin books introduced me to Sazeracs. I love rye, so I got all the components (had to buy Peychaud's bitters on line, because I couldn't find it local). Also use herbsaint instead of absinthe. Much easier to find. Hardly every make them, but I live a truly great margarita.

You and I would get along well. There are only 2 cocktails that I ever order (depends on venue and situation). Vodka Tonic with a twist of lime. Extra dirty martini with bleu cheese stuffed olives (preferably with Chopin vodka).

Old Fashioned or Sazerac .. I rarely go to a mixed drink but if I do, usually one of these.

If we're talking just sitting at a bar in the evening then probably Jameson and Ginger. Light on the ginger ale, preferably ginger beer if they've got it. Bloody Mary's are a regular occurrence on Saturday/Sunday mornings.

I'm not big on poundin' mixed drinks, all that sugar messes with me. 1 margarita with an extra shot on top is commonplace at Mexican restaurants though. It's beers after that.

Gin and Tonic. Blue Sapphire is my go-to gin.
I mentioned Hendrick's above as my favorite gin. I also like Tanqueray; that is what typically use for a Greyhound (or Salty Dog). I'm not a martini guy, but Blue Sapphire is a good gin if that's what you're having.

A little Gilby's in a plastic jug never hurt anyone!

I know I will get grief here but I also love a mint mojito. I usually drink those during the summer or on vacation.

I have a question about Manhattans. Sometimes I want something a little lighter so I've began to make my Manhattans "Irish" (use Jameson instead of bourbon). Anyone else do this or tried it? I'm a big fan.

Dirty martini. Absolut up. Use Dirty Sue olive juice and bleu cheese stuffed olives to make it perfect.
