QB throws a pass strikes the goalpost and is caught by a receiver in the endzone. Is this a TD ? What if a defender catches the ball? Is this an interception ?

Not a rules guy here, but I think the play is blown dead when the football strikes the goalposts in any manner...
Goalpost lies out of bounds. Once the ball touches anything out of bounds the ball is dead. This was the reason goalposts were moved back behind the end zone.
Then how come when a field goal or an extra point attempt hits the goal post and goes thru it is good ?
Those are the only exceptions. Ball is ruled dead otherwise.. except in Arena football
