I mean he cleaned up the program but isn't going to take them beyond 6-8 wins at most.

Bring back butch Davis. Miami area kids said they'd come to the U no doubt. So what if there are compliance issues.

Close counts in contract extensions for coaches you hired - we are almost good - and SE clearly has football coaching hires down to a science.

Remember when Golden was hired what a quality coach Miami brought to the Gables?

Miami sits in a hot bed of players with speed and skill. Maybe per capita the best in the nation. The support from fans, alumni and financial support is below top 10 in the country. I was being kind. Miami will get a top head coach or at least one who is a top upcoming rising star. More than half your squad from the Miami/Dade county area would make you a top 25 team. Just put in the time and effort in recruiting and the recruiting results will happen. The other part is coaching and development. That is the tricky part for Miami. This is the part Miami has to get right this time. Or else.

Cristobol - oline bama
Chudzinski - colts - alum
Moss - packers - alum

Butch Davis - no way they actually do it

If they don't go with a Miami guy:
Herman and Fuente
Kingsbury would play the role right, as would pj fleck

I have heard a lot of Chudzinki and Fuente chatter already. I think the fans (both of them) want to bring back Butch.

Clemson's d'coordinator will be on most every list as well, Brent Venables.

I'm sure KSU is hoping they lure Venables away when the Wizard of Manhattan retires.

A lot of fans see it that way, for sure. Whether the Wizard hangs it up or not is totally unclear though. I mean, hell, he's only 76. And to be clear, it's totally unfair to judge him on this year, or for he to judge himself, as injuries have totally decapitated the program.

LOL...if SE actually fired Riley, Golden would probably be his man to hire. Think about that for a while!

This has been said by just about everyone forever and ever and ever.

The truth is that outside of very brief stretches (1983-94, 2000-03), they have been just another mediocre program. Their facilities and fan support are a joke, and the expectations there are ridiculously out of proportion. No up-and-comer with an ounce of intelligence would touch that job with a 10 foot pole.

Their stadium is a joke as well, having to bus students from what can be over an hour away. Investing in the program might start with a commitment to building a properly sized, on campus stadium.
