Just read an article on this subject, and it concerns the Duke (Goliath) game this week @ VT. Apparently, this will be the 1st sellout for the Hokies since March of 2012!!
The point of this post is to express my amazement (as usual) for this little "private school" that most of the country calls "Mighty Duke"!!! God, I love it when I here this, it makes me so proud of this school, Coach, and team(s).
I love it when I hear people say that, and when I tell them that Duke is a private school, they say "no way". How could anyone root against Duke, when they play such pure BB, they do things the right way, and they are constantly giving everything they have?! Yes, I know it's because they always win, but they don't flaunt it like some others do.
Also, I wanted to be refreshed on something, when Duke played Butler for the Title, didn't I see somewhere that Duke was only slightly larger that Butler? Something like 6K to 4K in students? Does anyone know off hand?
I remember reading something about Butler taking on "Mighty Duke" for the NCAA Title, and I loved it!!
Anyway, as ususal, another big game for someone, as Goliath comes to Town!!
Go Duke!!

Everyone hates when people talk about Duke. yet the only sellout they have that year is when duke comes to town.
Everyone hates when people praise Duke, yet they only camp out for when Duke comes to town.
Everyone hates when Duke is always on tv, yet the highest ratings are when Duke is playing.
Everyone hates Duke and say they're overrated, yet they storm the court if they win the game against Duke.

Nothing new here. When you're the top dog for the last 30+ years you're going to be hated. It happens, and i wouldn't change anything for it. Few programs know what its like.

We're the biggest game on everyone's schedule. This isn't that shocking. We all knew Blacksburg would be charged up for tomorrow night. And like is always the case on the road in the ACC....Duke better bring it or trouble could loom.

Agreed dukiejay. A loss to bottom-dweller VT this late in the season could spell doom for Duke's 1 seed chances. Not to mention, it would make all of us a little bit uneasy regardless whether Okafor suits up. Hopefully no one looks past this game. Don't think coach will let them.

Nothing new here. It's like that with everyone whether it's home or away. They get extra fired up. Look at the Elon game this year. We really should have beaten them by 50 but they gave us a decent game and compared to the talent out played us. The score was 75-62 and we only outscored them by 2 the second half. I know it's got to be hard to get sky high against everybody but we have to be aware. Yes and David had no chance to slay Goliath according to those who witnessed. Goliath most assuredly under estimated David. Then boom it was all over. We have to be ready against all even the ones we should handle easily. Recent history should tell us that. OFC

^This needs to be on a t-shirt somewhere. Lord, I get so tired of people I know and work with constantly giving me crap and yet Duke is all they ever talk about. I am proud to be a part of a fan-base that ignites this much hate and interest. GO DUKE!!!!!
