Pepperdine taking it to them for the 3rd time this year. It bothers me Duke will get this team as their 2 seed. I know that is par for the course, but give me a break.

I'm actually hoping Duke wins out so they get moved into the East...at least then they would have a real team as their 2 seed, although probably a weak KU type team.

This has been a pretty good game so far, Zags up 1 with 9 to play in first half. Wiltjer has 0, probably not near 100%.

Yep, that 1 loss probably should have moved them down to a 3 seed at minimum. Their SOS just doesn't hold up, and honestly, they just suck. The problem then becomes, who takes that 2 spot. Seems to me that after the first 6, the field is relatively weak.

I think Maryland and ND are better candidates talent wise than the Fraud Gonzaga, although they are more in the mode of a Gonzaga/KU than the top 6 as you mentioned.

It would be different if they gave whoever got Gonzaga a hard 3...but they won't. UK will get the hardest 3...thanks to geography.

Gonzaga blowing them out now guys, up 4!

Where are all the people that think Gonzaga can beat Duke on here?

Okafor will score 30+ points and have 15-20 rebounds on these scrubs. Pepperdine is taking the ball to the rim at will!

Here's how it works. It is all based on geography (idiotic but I digress) so the top 2 seed gets first pick closest to home so to speak (well not picked, but sorted close to home as Wisconsin does NOT want to go to Cleveland).

So:

1. Wisconsin: Midwest/Cleveland.
2. Arizona: West/Anaheim or wherever it is, I'm not sure.
3. Gonzaga: South/Houston
4. KU: East/Syracuse.

This all assumes the 2 seeds are in order, but honestly I see no way the top 2 are not in some order unless they lose in their conference tournaments and even then I feel Wisconsin and Arizona are your top 2 seeds...meaning they get the closest sites.

That leaves Gonzaga and KU. Now I suppose logically KU could be ranked ahead of the Zags, but I do not buy it....so Zags are 3rd, sent to Houston (closest to Washington between Houston/Syracuse) and KU gets what is left.

The way it is setting up I think Wisconsin is getting screwed the most getting put in UK's bracket, and then Villanova 2nd getting stuck out west with Zona. Obviously UK gets screwed as well IMO, but we are winning so that is all I have to say about that.

Wiltjer still couldn't guard a spot on the floor. His team does a good job of trying to hide in their zone defense. However, good teams could easily expose him because of lack of defense.

Im happy for Kyle and I will be pulling for Gonzaga as long as they don't play us or another SEC team.

Can they guard anyone? Hell No
Can they score against anyone? Hell yes (anyone, but us and VA)

Did you hear that guys? Kentucky may not have an answer for Gonzaga's out of shape 35 year-old big man.

It is really hilarious these idiots hyping up Gonzaga Seth. They must not pay attention as there is near 0 percent chance the two meet in the tourney, even if they somehow gave them to UK as their 2. UK is not that lucky, and someone else would beat them in the 2nd round of Sweet 16.

Everyone else in the thread knows they were in a back and forth game when I posted. I do not think ANYONE thought they were going to lose this game. Hell, I stopped watching at halftime to watch Better Call Saul so I take 100% blame for the game becoming a blowout in the last 10 minutes.

The fact remains that it is funny Duke is going to get this team...always seems to work out for them getting a weak 2 when they are really good.

Have to pave the way for Duke, you are right. Problem is, they seem to want to take a detour and get stuck recently.

I would say he will be a very tired fellow if he tries to keep up with our platoon of bigs.

Let's be fair tho.

If your going to use Kenpom to show that Pepperdine is a poor team that same ranking system has Gonzaga rated 7th in the nation.

That same system predicted a 12 point win..........they won by 18.

Given the two teams spots, Gonzaga did BETTER than expected last night.

Now none of this is to suggest they should or shouldn't be a 2 seed.......just that they definitely should be in the conversation.

It's no problem. I saw the thread then checked the score expecting a game and saw that they won big.

Gonzaga is a good team worthy of a low 2 this year.

True. Tennessee is kenpom #95. We were only up on them by four on the road in mid February.

Good teams can have bad games/halves.

Pepperdine almost beat them 78-76 in the regular season so it was not just a bad half...just saying

Here is the way I think it will end up:

Midwest: Kentucky/Kansas
East: Villanova/Wisconsin
South: Virginia/Gonzaga
West: Duke/Arizona

None of the regional stuff is set in stone. It's just a guideline to the committee.

They play BYU tonight. So far, they've split with them. Won @ BYU by 7 points, but lost at home to BYU by 3 points. If Kyle has some lingering effects, this could be an interesting game.

If Mercer and/or Lehigh can...you can count me among them that believe Gonzaga can beat Duke. Why not?

Those guys were talking about how great Gonzaga and BYU were and their next step would be to get to an elite eight or final four.

Then a little later they are talking about them having a chance to beat UK with their bigs. It was pitiful and then Goodman open his pie hole and it got even worse.
