Jk. I think it's hilarious they lost. Their fans are now celebrating moral victories. For giggles go to OB and read the comments on each page. To calling for Strong to be gone, to saying look out big 12 they are back, to devastation.

We're nowhere near being back, but 650 yards of offense is a huge improvement over the last 6 games

I told Moses that Heard was a little Vince but a better passer than Vince at this stage of their careers as Horns.
I don't know if he can do that all season. He's the real deal.

Heard looks like the real deal. Ugh.

Yeah, reminded me of a much quicker Baker Mayfield and can extend plays with his arm and legs. They got a boost from the game last night, even though it was a fluke loss, and we may not want to give them up for dead just yet.

OL/DL are not good, but what surrounds are young and have the MLB and QB that can win the Big 12 and make it to the final 4.

You better go sit on the pot all day long, because you're full of it. Were you even around when VY was playing? I'm doubting it. Cal's defense was full off holes, especially on their pathetic blitzes.

Come back with your "another Vince Young" superlative after the OSU game.

Haha, yes they're legal. I've already cycled the woods and wedges out. Callaway'so new lines are out so they had me update those.

Last week, you were a "UT football critic". This week, you're back to being a UT fan. A critic wouldn't make such a ridiculous statement about the present state of UT football as this.

Cal's defense is hot garbage and busted several coverage's. Cal also left 20 points on the board last night and dropped a easy catch to seal the game

Heard is one trick pony scramble or throw it up for grabs ( great athlete and will make some plays with his legs) but defense coaches learn to stop that

heard is NO VY in stature and wont hold up to the hits if he runs like that all year

another note: Webster wont make it another year at Texas

Let's see how Heard looks against Pokes and Frogs.... Cal has a terrible D and had no idea how to defend Heard, receivers were running wide open even Swoopes could have looked good

Last season Cal's defense gave up 38 points per game. Are they improved this year?

heard will not make the entire season if he keeps running the ball. They will have Swoopes back soon enough, it maybe the pokes putting Heard back to pasture.

What? With a 1-2 record?

Uh, never mind, I misplaced my irony glasses for a minute.

Most fans realize we have a long way to go, but we also see the foundation of youth growing up week to week. And yes I too grow weary of the "we're a young team", but we are. With the exception of Daje, 95% of the big pays are all being made by freshman and RS freshman.

Moral victory, no. Seeing us jump from 59 yards of offense a game four games ago to 650 last night gives us hope.

For those thinking Heard hasn't displayed the potential to be great, well it sounds a lot like sour apples. He broke the Texas single game yardage record in his 2nd start. His scoring drives...

Plays/Yards
8/76
10/71
6/95
1/6
6/75
11/92
6/81

Most important he was a leader. This team never quit.

We are still a year away and the new AD has given Charlie his support.

Talk about bad sportsmanship (how is that not flagged from all corners?)....just can be expected from that lowly shorthorn bunch that celebrates losses these days.

Crap like this has been going on not only in college, but the NFL as well. It's a convenient way to get a timeout with actually having to call a timeout. Not like Texas invented it yesterday or something. It's just times like that it is absolutely blatant!! Look up the Bowling Green kid that "played dead" against Tennessee the week before OU played them. Not like occurrences like this is anything new. I'm willing to be OU players have snuck things like this in, just not as glaringly blatant.

You are missing the point as usual Billy boy.... Texas has been reduced to faking injuries to compete with a middle of the road Pac 12 team lmao Ou will run the Horns out of the Cotton bowl

Missing the point?? :D It has nothing to do with who you are playing. It has to do with offenses finding ways to speed up tempo, so defenses are resorting to crap like this to slow them down. And Cal is the last to complain. I've heard they are as guilty as anyone pulling crap like this.

Yeah.. maybe so.. but I watched that Cal game today (had it on DVR), and, just like UT should be concerned about Mayfield, I'm starting to think we should be concerned about heard.

I know it's just one game, but he looked like a much, much more dangerous QB than Swoopes ever thought about being.

Heads up, heard is probably a better runner than Mayfield, while Baker is a better pure QB. Mayfield also does a better job (I think), of looking downfield after he breaks containment. At this moment, I would chose Baker as my starting QB.

But the Heard kid is what? A redshirt FS? That's a little scary... just saying.

No I don't think many teams do it the way Texas did it. He looked to the sideline as he was trying to get off. He was told to flop from the sideline before he flopped.
Most teams that do it for an advantage just stay down to stop the clock.
He was really hurt the coaches could have called a time out. They had him flop to save a penalty. They ended up having to use a time out anyway.
That was a big ole Texas flop and ridiculous. Besides this is Charlie's Angels they can't cheat.

Given the state of OUr OLine, I think the RRR is a game that is definitely a dogfight again. And Heard will only improve. The good news is that we'll have some tape on him to measure his strengths and weaknesses. This Horn offense will be pretty close to what he ran in high school, most likely. So it's not like it's new to him, just against more complex defenses.

It is fun to watch them lose that way, but all it does is make the conference look weaker.

It's hard times for UT football, but they are likely to be as tough to beat as they were a year ago. And we didn't exactly roll over them. Without Ross's KO return and a pick six by Zack Sanchez, might have been a sad exit from Fair Park.

In 55 years as a Sooner football fan, I've learned not to make too much fun of Texas until after the RRR. It seems to promote bad Karma.

By mid October, I'll be leading the razzing. I hope.
