He wasn't perfect. But he was EXACTLY the guy you needed to bring NU and its stingy administration into the modern business world of athletics. Especially after the do-nothing Murphy era.

I'd be inclined to hire someone from within who has seen Phillips' habits and how to deal with the administration. I assume priority numero uno will be some type of renovation to Ryan Field.

Hasn't Polisky been with him since day 1?

I don’t think so. I believe I remember when he brought Polisky on, a couple years later. I think he was with the Chicago AFL team.

He hired the coach who got us to the tourney and ended Northwestern being the answer to the most embarrassing trivia question in all of hoops. He will always have my admiration
