West Virginia is a lock now.

AN EXCERPT:

His other opening-weekend upsets include 12th-seeded Buffalo beating No. 5 West Virginia in the Midwest, 11th-seeded Texas beating No. 6 Butler in the Midwest and 12th-seeded Wyoming beating No. 5 Northern Iowa in the East. None of those underdogs advances beyond that, however.

Rachel Stern: President pulling for UB

(Not sure if Bobby Hurley was any tougher or any scrappier than Bobby Huggins.)

AN EXCERPT:

Well, the University at Buffalo men's basketball team has one fan pulling for them Friday -- and it just so happens to be the President of the United States.

President Barack Obama picked the Bulls to upset West Virginia in his annual NCAA Tournament bracket. Obama revealed his picks on ESPN's SportsCenter Wednesday morning.

"I liked Bobby Hurley," the President said. "Seeing Hurley, how tough he was because he was not a big guy, but he was tough and scrappy and that's reflected in his team."

Anything can happen in the tournament but this should at least keep our guys focused and hungry. Hopefully it puts more pressure on Buffalo to live up to the hype. These first round upsets typically happen when the lower seed is able to sneak up on a team looking past them....

The word at ESPN is that Hillary Clinton will be either e-mailing or texting her picks in shortly.
Heard she emailed them last night but they were magically deleted this morning.

He picks a team based on how the coach played in college? Sounds like how he picks his aides and cabinet members.

I read where in addition to saying the Mountaineers will lose their game against Buffalo, that Obama also wants the collegiate 3-point line and lane moved to NBA standards, the shot clock at 30 seconds instead of the current 35 seconds, as well as placing emissions standards your bar-b-que smoke and limiting your shower time to 7 minutes.......
