Well, as long as it is either Hjelle or Thompson in the first game I won't be upset. Anyone else and I will be scratching my head. Part of me says that it would be a pretty smart idea to pitch Hjelle first and make sure we get the win. Then set up a match between Lewis and LSU. Lewis dominated them and only gave up 6 hits in a 2 run complete game. However, the other part of me says that it would be good to pitch Thompson on day one because it is basically his normal rotation spot and he's done well. Then you get Hjelle against LSU, which might end up being a play-in game for a national seed. You'd then have Lewis available to be the guy that could slam the door on LSU if they make it back out of the loser's bracket. You'd then have Logue and a possible Johnny All Staff approach in the title game. The good thing about having Logue there is that Logue's Achilles Heel has been home runs and Hoover is a big ball park that isn't easy to hit the ball out of. So, what might typically be home runs against Logue in other ball parks might be fly balls outs in Hoover.
So, I wouldn't be upset with us going either way, but I think Hjelle needs to either pitch first or second, depending on how well UK's coaches think Lewis can possibly match up against LSU hitters. I suppose you could be really crazy and pitch Hjelle first and then pitch Thompson and give LSU someone they've never seen or faced before, but that is a bit more risky.
