Everyone bitched about Cal not playing zone and now you’re bitching about Pope not playing zone. Maybe it’s not as easy as you guys think?

Our defense is top 25 this year as of today. It’s actually pretty good.

All good coaches utilize changing defenses unless you have matchup advantages at most positions. (We don't)
Otherwise, switching defense helps disrupt the opponent's offensive flow. Sure, there are times when a team goes zone and gives up a 3, but that doesn't mean it's ineffective or useless.

Last yr Pope successful implemented 1-3-1 against Duke and Gonzaga and it helped change the momentum.

I hate zone defense. But even I have been thinking maybe we should play zone.

They scored 68 points in 69 possessions...........less than 1 point per possession. That was the best mark vs their offense all season long.

I think I'll let Pope decide what defense he wants to play lol
