Goose is with the team everyday and says they get along great.
The players laugh at that crap and say they’re all close and good friends.
But the anonymous posters who don’t know any of the players say different.
Who are you supposed to believe? Goose, the players, CMP or anonymous posters or the Seinfeld type whiners in KSR?

Didn't he just say he has watched them practice and doesn't know how they interact in the locker room or with each other outside of practice?
I am a person who thinks most of the rumors are BS, but Givens essentially just said he doesn't know how they act outside of practice.

There were clear chemistry issues for a handful of games. It's been consistent.
There are 2 possible issues.
1. Team Chemistry Issues, and the rumors have some validity to it. (When BG was sat, team went on a 16 point run)
or
2. The team as a whole doesn't like Pope/doesn't trust him as a coach.

3. Could be a blend of the 2.

i don’t think chemistry issues necessarily mean they don’t like each other. I think they just suck at playing together.
Absolutely. Sometimes minutes continuity alone will account for it. Injuries have guys in and out of the lineup, so yeah, a read-based offense is going to struggle when guys don’t have enough minutes together, go figure.
Yes. The chemistry looks bad because we have a lot o guys that flat can't shoot, lol. Let's see if Jack gets the same respect other UK greats have gotten for their comments........lol.

It fits mine. I have said all along Pope was the issue because he is not ready for this job.

Well for starters.. Goose could 100% doing damage control. The same way a coach will deny rumors of leaving for a new job and then leave for that job 1 day later. And honestly, the team sure LOOKS like they have some chemistry issues.. if not chemistry, then at least a lack of dedication and care for winning games.

IMO benching BG was the beginning of resolving chemistry issues. Fingers crossed, but it makes the path forward a bit clearer for other guys. The next one to watch is maybe Oweh.

They clock in and clock out like a job and then separate. Sure I talk to my work colleagues and sometimes cut up with them but at the end of the day I don’t want nothing to do with them
So then what do you make of the consistent bad body language from certain players? What do you take of selfish plays and ball hogging of specific players? Not reaching. Just making observations.
If someone from NASA tells me the sky is Red when it's sunny outside but I clearly see blue, I'm not going to believe them.
I just don't believe anything at first glance. I think and investigate first. I always look at two sides of the coin and think based off the consistency I saw on the court.
At the end of the day, I hope Goose is 100% right. But again, something clearly happened before the UofL game.
We played more as a team before that. Then after that, everything changed.
Anything the public is told by someone in the know is always the exact opposite of the truth. That’s in everything, sports, politics, etc. agree with you on that
Regardless if the rumors are true or not doesn’t matter. Rumors aren’t true ok we just stink. They need to get it together rumors or no rumors. What’s the excuse for no effort.

Yeah I have said that. MB has had a fair shot and screwed the pooch repeatedly. MP certainly doesn't deserve to be fired

Having chemistry problems would at least absolve Pope of some of the issues we’re having. Not all, but it would make fans a little more sympathetic towards the coaching staff having to deal with young guy problems.
Just plain sucking throws it all in the coach. Every last bit of it is Pope and his staff’s problem. They don’t get absolved for sh*t. That’ll just make fans more inclined to demand a revamp of the whole program. New coach, new team. If this is all the coaches’ fault, they don’t belong here. They’re in over their heads.
Well at least you’re on there. I was in favor of not making a change with Mark until next season. Up until he came out and gaslit the fanbase today. He could have just accepted accountability and not spoke about JMI and Mitch. Instead he decided to be disingenuous and lie through his teeth because it’s likely he wants Mitch to remain because other AD’s wouldn’t put up with it and Mitch will. Tells me he’s not protecting the program he’s going to submit to the will of Mitch and the money regardless if we win or not. Plus he’s losing really bad and it’s not acceptable.
Until he wins to the standard at UK, his seat needs to be red hot. This is the NIL era, UK needs weeks to put a final four team together. Long gone are the days you need years. It’s more than reasonable to say he fixes this fast within 12 months or he’s gotta go.
don’t listen to any of that. They have major chemistry issues and major team issues. These guys do not like each other and there is a huge split in the team. Anything else is just “I want my access” and nonsense. Pope is actually a much better coach than this. It’s the team, although the roster construction isn’t good.
I’m more of the “where there’s smoke, there’s fire” type of guy. I don’t know that they hate each other but there’s something going on. From a modest level of coaching/playing experience it looks like a leadership struggle. Could be as simple as early workouts/playing with only certain guys available and then figuring out how to play together once they’re back. But in the NIL era, who knows.
My stance is, MP is at the mercy of MB when it comes to what he can offer and the terms that go with it. He answers to him, not BBN. Cal and Stoops have proven that Pope won't be gone this season though. MB brought him in, letting him go would be taking blame for MB and its not happening
