Cats are pulling out all the stops. Undefeated in Goth this season.

What is so wrong with Purple and White and Northwestern stripes?
Because the kids like the Gothic ones. I kind of like them as well and they can wear purple and white e opening game in the NCAA Tournament.

I like the fact that the kids like the unis but I have to ask if we don't fall short every time we do it.

Those look great. Why is it such a big deal around here every time they wear the gothics?

Because they're not our uniforms or our colors. Why don't we just send them all out there in Lollapalooza t shirts?

Once again, it's because the current players and potential recruits LIKE THEM!

Hell it's always a big deal for some every time our BB or FB teams wear an unique uni. All that should matter is how they play the game and hopefully get a win.

First, I hope you're not saying that the inmates should run the asylum? I presume not.

Second, you say the kids like them. What is the evidence that they like them? Was an anonymous poll taken? Do they really get to speak their minds on things like this if the media or the AD asks? What are they supposed to say "I hate them"?

Maybe they liked them once when they first came out. Has anybody asked them again?

Or are we just assuming all of this? Serious question.

I've linked this before but it fits for them showing how much they like the unis

LOL. The actual players participating in the actual games are "inmates." Take some time to reconsider that analogy. And the uniforms look great on TV and social media, by the way.

It's not like they're just random shirts. They are actually representative of what our campus looks like. I mean, that lettering is instantly recognizable to anyone who went to NU, right?

Fair point. But it's a common phrase.

I see the promotional video that somebody else posted...

They all sure look happy about wearing them that first time.

So here's a different analogy: have you ever opened a Christmas present that doesn't do much for you but it's from somebody you're close to and don't want to offend? Particularly in a group situation? How do you react? You put on a bit of a show, right? Particularly when you know other eyeballs are
on you - like in a promo video.

Take it a step further: what if you liked it at a Christmas but you get the exact same present for your birthday? Still just as happy?

Like I said, how do we know they like them now and want to wear them now?

I don't care that much one way or the other about this. I'd prefer we wear our classic purple and white. But it's just a preference, not the end of the world. I would be curious to know whether these kids really care or whether it's just a slight preference doesn't move the needle for them either all that much.

My best guess is that they honestly don't give a damn but have been told that they're supposed to care so many times, they play act and go along... like contestants on a game show exaggerating for effect because the cameras are on.

Purple with white gothic letters would look good too. And fit the NU colors. Try it

Just knock it off. Inmates???????? You are just making yourself sound stupid. Why I don't know. Also yes. it is my understanding that the players are asked and have an input into their uniforms.
