The kid shows no fears. I was thinking at the end how much I would have loved to have had him on this UK team. I am just glad that we don't have to play them again. Two barnburners are enough for my heart.
Seems we have a budding rivalry with them now. I will say that they play like A&M. They play a bit dirty IMO. Saw a few shots to Butlers shoulder tonight.

Well it helps when you push off with your arm practically every time he drives AND the freaking refs call us for a foul for breathing on him.. The refs allow him to basically do whatever it is he wants to do... it was really pathetic and not sure how and why as a kid he gets away with that crap... Amazing... I wish we got away with some of it. ...

He's going to make a fortune next year via the portal. And he'll be worth it.
He's not turning down the draft.
He's trending towards the lottery right now.
Like Son of Saul said, UK was his dream school and Cal was the coach while he was growing up.
That tells me he dreamed of being a OAD and now that dream is a reality.

SEC media has sucked his a$$ all year. Ref protected him as well. I know a lot of people who couldve been ballers if allowed to push off to create separation. He also jawed the whole game both times we played.

I'm glad to never see him again that's for sure. He nearly carried OK to 2 wins over us but a former OK player said not today or any day!

He jawed the game before too. I think he just likes to talk trash and to be fair so does Otega.

I mean all players talk sh*t if it hurts feelings they shouldn't play it's part of it

have to agree , I can't imagine this kid being at Oklahoma next year. He looks to be top 5 NIL earner next season (assuming he doesn't go pro)

I wonder how he ended up there to begin with? Family , coach connection? Seems like he would have had alot of interest from major bball schools

He probably about as interested in NIL as Reed Sheppard was.

shows how much I keep up with recruiting

I quit following recruiting years ago after spending years going to watch potential UK recruits in person. It was too much of a roller-coaster. I am glad you asked the question about his recruiting because I found that article and found it so interesting. Imagine if he had come to UK? Wowsers!

His dad wants him to go pro. Can't say that I blame their family. His stock has gone through the roof. I don't think he's ready, personally, but there's instant money to be made. If he develops a three-point shot in the league he's going to be a tough guard.
I agree and I think that is far and away the time to go do it and make the move. Strike while the iron is hot. It ain't gonna get any hotter. Young man has a razor sharp motor and smooth feel to it and look and finish to it already, and I wish him the best. Freshman of the year in the SEC this year, in my book. That will be saying something after this year the SEC has had.

But I'm with you, SoS .... "He just simply shoulda' come to Kentucky this year. God Bless him and his family. I think he will continue developing and be a truly good NBA player." you can quote me on that.

That image of him at the end of the game, with his jersey up over his head made me flashback to memorial gym (84', SEC tournament win over Auburn?) when I was under the basket right across from where Charles Barkley sat on the floor, just sitting there, pulling his jersey up, dejected. Not but twenty feet there in front of my eyes. Hellofa flashback for me.

What a game. Both of 'em !

I used to go watch potential recruits as well. Always had a good time
Now I only watch the kids at the King of the Bluegrass tournament every year
