1. Name one improvement you saw tonight's game. (Yes we played a trash team, that doesn't matter right now, it's about those good habbits)

2. Name one positive you saw from today's game.

3. Name one thing we still need to work on.

-

For me.

One improvement is we are playing 4 spreed with very little zoom action. Typically a 4 spread has a lot of motion, but this one seems to run with a lot of high passes and pass fakes. Interesting, but how long will it last until we are figured out again?

Another thing is that he did a trickle in sub pattern than mass subs which worked in the first half. But not sure what he was doing in the 2nd.

The biggest positive is that Pope FINALLY saw what BBN was seeing the entire year about BG. Glad he didn't play the 2nd half.

1. Ball movement improved in the second half to where my darting eyes were getting excited.

2. A positive was a much better Oweh in terms of effort. Bonus was JJ getting into an offensive groove.

3. Still see some breakdowns on D. Need to talk more on D.

Will admit I haven’t seen much this year, and tonight’s game isnt a great measuring stick, but I liked the zone potential, especially since our guards are generally easy to get around. Also some Flow with the 4 guard look when we ran that.

but optimism about the season won’t change until we beat a decent team.

We benched Garrison.

(Better substitutions. Actually hitting some shots and out-hustling the other team at times.)

2. Name one positive you saw from today's game.
Garrison got sat when he lost the ball and then dilly dicked back down the court.

(Some guys seem to be getting more confident and regaining their fire. Oweh and Johnson showed flashes of what we need them to be. Defensively, we flowed better today than we have been.)

3. Name one thing we still need to work on.
Benching Garrison more.

(Defense. Offense. Special teams.)

1. Pope's attitude and some of the teams attitude. Much Better Assists
2. Pope putting BG's *** on the bench. And telling him to sit his *** down! Loved it. That's the Pope I want.
3. Defense and Toughness still needs some work.

Why you would ever do that stupid zone defense against us, idk. A team that struggles offensively, I would’ve made us earn points instead of just constantly leaving folks open from the zone.

I would give us like a C- or D+. Was not impressed at all really. Which ironically is impressive when your team shoots 60%

It needs to go further, too. BG needs to run till he pukes, apologize to his teammates, and accept the backup role this season. Anything less than that, and I don't particularly care if he's on the roster when we play Indiana.

Him walking off while Oweh and pretty much the rest of the team huddled up there in the Post Game says all I need to know.

His *** is the problem.

You can’t take a single thing from this game other than BG being mostly benched.

They did the same thing tonight they’ve done the entire year. They’ve beaten all these bad teams by 40 and have shot well. It’s when they play teams with a pulse that they can’t do anything.

BG benching was an A+. Rest doesn't matter until we play a real opponent.
agreed, but his benching highlighted another issue, at least IMO, Moreno doesn't pass or catch particularly well, which may be why Pope kept going to BG even though he didn't want to. YMMV on Moreno opinions

There was no improvement. They just played a bad team that couldn’t take advantage. They didn’t miss every three. So that’s better I guess.

I voted C. The best thing by far was Pope showing a backbone after seeming like he was on the verge of completely losing control of the team. Garrison, Lowe, and Williams all seemingly missed significant time as a disciplinary action, which will hopefully at least pay dividends in our effort level.

Anything else is extremely difficult to tell against such an inferior opponent. The ball movement was decent at times, but a lot of it seemed to be created by simply out athleting a badly overmatched team rarher than actually running better sets. The defense still had several lapses that led to easy baskets too. Very much still a work in progress, and I’m not ready to declare anything fixed until I see it against an opponent with a pulse.

I still don't get the vitriol toward BG tbh
Garrison hasn't improved this year , in fact he has regressed. This fan base has ALWAYS picked a player to dog when things aren't going well. Been that way for years and years ,always will be. Personally I like Pope benching him for his poor play. He is not very good right now. All the attacks on his character and the personal animosity toward him have been WAY over the line, but that's UK fans, always has been.

Clearly don't comprehend the thread. It's how we played. Its changing stuff. There were changes tonight. I even said we played a trash team in the OP. Can you not read?
I can read, douchebag. Again. It's very easy to implement changes against a horrible team. This game tells us very little long term

That's fair. Just seems like a lot of fans make it personal with BG

1. I liked the effort on defense and the fact we played a few possessions of zone. Players were communicating on that side of the court, and I liked switching the ball screens at the top of the key.

2. I liked seeing Pope call a timeout, walk directly to BG to chew his a$$ out and leave him in the bench the rest of the game. Hustle or don’t play. Period.

3. Rebounding. Still too much ball watching. Put a body on someone. Gave up way too many offensive rebounds against a bad team.

Ky can't pass the damn ball with out making a dribble or 2 first, that alone gives the Defense time to recover. Reminds me of grade school s..t. need to run the old school no dribble drill.
