Grayson rumors....

I am not putting this out to stir the pot so to speak, but as the diehard Blue Devil fan I am. I've heard from more than one person in last 48 GA was considering a transfer to Florida.

The reason I didnt immediately dismiss were multiple:
A/G is from Fla
B/Its a major Power 5 not in ACC
C/He could have gotten to know Dr.White's son (Coach Mike White) pretty well.
D/The transfer makes sense as it takes him out of the ACC limelight, and gives him change of scenery to get his game ready for NBA..

I am putting this out there because I know many of you have close ties to program, and certainly know more than I.

I pray we get one more year from Grayson. I love the kid and think he could be the crucial piece next year in upperclass leadership, not to mention talent!

He could play immediately as a graduate transfer, right? Hope it isn't true, but it does make a lot of sense for him.

I guess this could be a legit possibility, but I just don't see it happening. That media coverage is what many kids come here for and from what I understand, the kid absolutely loves Duke. I don't see what he could get at Florida that coming back or going pro wouldn't provide. I say that as someone who holds UF as his second favorite team.

In all seriousness, I would rather Grayson stay and not get Duval than see him transfer. Grayson has meant so much to Duke, and I know there is more being factored in than landing Duval, but I'd hate to see that kid in any college uniform that isn't Duke blue. I hope this is all just talk.

I know some posters during the season on here we're saying he needed to transfer to a lower tier program that kept him out the public eye.
If this was true, not saying it is. That would be like stated above something is wrong.

I both want him to do the best thing for himself while at the same time this would royally tick me off.

Yeah, I lean towards an early April Fool's. No one falls for them on the actual day anymore, so it seems there are more and more of them a day or even 2 ahead of it. And Hart, I know it wasn't you, but perhaps your source.

I have stayed off the board the past week because of the 'cats and dogs living together, MASS HYSTERIA' vibe. Some need to settle down.

Entirely different. I came here asking for HELP on the rumor from individuals like yourself who have such keen insights and have indicated a closeness to the program.

Sorry to see you're carrying a grudge.... Enjoy your weekend and lets hope 'holes go down. Btw, whats latest Luke update- I see where he's at #24 in mock draft yesterday...

Unfortunately, I am not one of those "in the know" on this board, and have "0" inside information, but I would say that I would be very surprised to see Grayson play anywhere but Duke, if he continues playing in College. I would love to see him play another year at Duke, and only Duke!
Is it possible that he, his family & "K" have discussed the possibility of moving on, that maybe he cannot handle the pressure of being booed everywhere, and maybe just want to get out of the limelight, so he can try to regain what many feel he has lost, you bet it is possible. Do I think that is the case, NO I don't. I believe that if Grayson does not turn pro, he will be back at Duke next year, "K" will help him handle the pressure, and he will leave the school he loves, a very happy young man! He has unfinished business, a legacy to build on, and #6 to go after!
Whatever his decision, there will be a good reason for it, and it will be done with his best interests taken into account. I wish him the very best no matter what that decision is.

No carrying a grudge, but they are no different. You're just pissed by something that is very likely to happen (from multiple sources that aren't even plugged in). As mentioned above, this is how ridiculous rumors start. This is a 'jamsession' type post. We need to settle down, quickly.

Come on man, I doubt you would. We've all heard crazy ish that we don't bring here because we know it is just that: crazy talk. Give the state of things now, though, desperation (and panic) seems to be taking over....

Probably would if it was a rumor that was going around in my area especially if it was from someone I considered reliable. He didn't say it would happen just asked if any had heard it

So I am "pissed????" Hardly SoCal, just spoke w/another friend and poster here and he would tell you I am not ah, "pissed." You seem to be in the minority or among the few who have expressed negative sentiments about me inquiring for info. It seems to be bothering you. As our mod Dukie Jay would say:"Toughen up, its just a message board."

Call me crazy, but I feel like if you're hearing rumors and want to see if there is any substance to them and want some clarity, your home board should be one of the safest places you can go without ridicule.

Fair point , but I also do not feel that those who call out that someone is leaving should be blasted, either. That is exactly what happened to me previously by the OP. I am not bitter, just making an observation. Side note, though, I would be absolutely shocked if there were even legs to this ‘story’…..
