Found this interesting:

Jeff Goodman ESPN Insider

Grayson Allen told me in preseason one of the reasons he came back to school was opportunity to play some point guard. Now getting chance and will only improve his draft stock.

And, today, Grayson gets 11 assists.

I think his ability to drive and his vertical ability is a huge plus for him and us. And his willingness to dish will not only enhance his draft stock but also create great opportunities for the likes of Kennard, Giles, Tatum, and co.

Really excited about that.

We still need better D but I like what potential there is here.

Yes I meant to post about this. I love Grayson in this role because he's most comfortable slashing to the basket and can generally finish around the basket so teams HAVE TO step up and help out when he gets into the lane. Grayson is showing he can find the open man where ever he may be (on the perimeter or under or slashing to the basket). Also, it really helps Matt Jones who I think was struggling handling point duties AND shooting. It APPEARS he's far more comfortable off the ball ready to catch and shoot and even in some cases pum fakes and drives like when Tyus was here.

Hes looked great the last two games. I really hope this is the Grayson that we are going to see for the rest of the season because this is what the offense needs most. The ball movement has been great and hes a huge reason because of this.

My only want for is for him to realize the chance he's been given. If he purposely trips again, I want him off the team. All he has to do now is lead the team and play clean. I'm pulling for him in a huge way, but I cannot tolerate another infraction. He has so many gifts. Use them son.

Grayson seems to really be embracing this new role and he's really thriving. We needed someone to step up and become the primary ball handler and it looks like that's what he's doing. The ball movement is night and day from what it was earlier in the season. He's setting the tone for the rest of the team.

I agree and he might need to be reminded of that. I hope he finishes the year off strong.

I am 100% sure this has been the craziest season we've had in 30 years.
Haha gotta agree with this. Although 2010 was pretty crazy with the emotional lows (Harrison Barnes) and highs (kyrie/natty title). But yes this year is out of control.

In response to your original post, I 100% agree. Love him running the point and he's doing a wonderful job with it. This team needs that playmaker role filled in the worst way. But if he trips again, he's done.
