I'm told there is extensive talks between #Tennessee & Greg Schiano about making him the Vols new HC, per source. Some details about potential transition are also being discussed (re: Urban Meyer wants Schiano part of the BigTen Title Game)

Damn...had no idea about Schiano's connection to the Sandusky scandal. Not sounding like Tennessee fans will tolerate the hiring of Schiano now.
Speculating here but I can’t imagine Schiano who was on the staff with Sandusky, knew anything at all about what horrible things were going on. He seems like the type that would have torn Sandusky apart limb by limb if he saw or heard anything remotely bad. I do realize that Sandusky was in essence his boss.

I hope to hell im right.

Wow. He may lose his job at OSU now if the administration didn’t know. And will see if the student body and fans react there too. Crazy. He kept that pretty quite. I hadn’t heard that connection before.

Tenn fans were probably more concerned he wouldn't win.

The fact that they were that far down the hiring list should tell them they ain't gonna be happy with whoever they hire.

Not that I'm defending the guy in question, I'm not.

UT dodged a bullet there for sure. I can't imagine he would have been any better than Butch.

As Lee Corso says, not so fast, my friend! AD at Tennessee may be fired now. Supposedly did their diligence and Schiano signed a memorandum of agreement, meaning that they will still have to pay him something.

Here MAY be an "in" for Jurich to resurrect a sleeping giant. People are nuts for the Big Orange in the Volunteer State. Knoxville is a beautiful area.

Vol fans aren't as hillbilly/inbred as UK fans, aren't as cult-like, like Alabama fans, and aren't as arrogant as IU-Bloomington fans. It's a great job.

More like a comatose giant - lol. They haven’t won the sec since 1998 - haven’t won the division since 2007.

Vol fans may not be as inbred as yut fans, cult-like as gump fans or, arrogant as looisers but, they are DELUSIONAL like no other fan base in America.

Schiano was hired because he was probably the best coach on their list that said yes. Schiano did not have a good record from an eye test, but those Rutgers teams were good during those Big East years. People don't realize how hard it is to win there and he did it consistently. There was a reason he was hired from college to the NFL and there was a reason Belicheck and Urban Meyer wanted him on their staffs.

Those fans don't realize that they may have money, but no one wants to deal with those rednecks down there. I had a contract job in Paris Tennessee 5 years back, and I am telling you they are way worse than the slappys. They were all in saying how Butch Jones had Saban scared and they were heading for a national title very soon.

Here is more on Schiano and what he possibly knew. He denies he knew anything and others claim he did.

If he witnessed anything, and did nothing, and the abuses continued for another decade and a half... would you expect Schiano to be truthful about what he witnessed? I do not believe him. McQuery is the only one in that situation that has shown an ounce of moral courage.
