🏀 Recruiting GT transfer Onwuchekwa should make immediate impact at Tulsa

Former 4-star recruit Doryan Onwuchekwa will be back closer to home after transferring to Tulsa. The 6-foot-11 Georgia Tech center entered the transfer portal in March and committed to the Golden Hurricane in mid-April. He officially signed with TU on April 29.

This is still a little bit of a mystery in my book. I hope it's a great pickup. My feeling so far, is that he might be the gauge of how good of a season we have. If he's average to slightly below we win 16 or 17, if he's above average to really good we might pick up 21 or 22 wins. Of course that's without seeing the last couple of three recruits. His percentages have to come up, and if he shoots the 3 as poorly, his shots of the 3 need to come way down.

Thanks for the link, double I. As they say, you can’t teach 6-11. Looks like he needs to work on building strength, and getting him to be more aggressive especially on defense will be important.

I like his size but I would see if we could put a "Smikle" motor in him and he could be great.

Smikle is probably the best motivator & example that Onwuchekwa
could have....

I'm looking forward to seeing the sophomore version of Smikle by the
way...He is certainly the closest Konkol has come to recruiting a true
five...You've got to love his motor!
