I know someone that named their kid Nathan Bedford. I don't care to get into that discussion but talk about handicapping a kid from birth. I guarantee you that there are people that will not hire him because of it.

I bet you can't guess what girls named dropped from near the top of the list to all the way out of the top 1000 last year? Maybe we're not all as open minded as we act like we are.

The title of this thread should be, Guess who has bad reading comprehension and no critical reasoning. The article specifically says the name peaked in 1988. That it went from the 600th most popular name to 1150th most popular name. Do you know how insignificant that is?

1300 people named their kid that in 2015. And only 750 people named it that in 2016. 0.033% to 0.019%. Wooooo, what an indictment on society.

Kim jong un?

On Nathan Bedford Forrest, Shelby Foote mentions him along with Abraham Lincoln as being the two geniuses of the civil war. When he related his sentiments to the forrest family, Foote was told, "you know, Mr Foote, we don't think too highly of Mr Lincoln."

People really ought to read a little on Forrest. His attitudes toward race completely changed. A perfect example is his speech to the pole-bearers association, a black southern organization advocating racial reconciliation in 1875.

I grew up down the road a piece from this area where the statue is now. Lived in Forrest's home town and about a mile from his birthplace. Of course, I also lived just a few miles away from the Cyrus (Billy Ray and Miley) Farm......soooooo......

They will in Tennessee. Tennessee just passed a bill to honor him and Tennessee also has a Nathan Bedford Forrest State Park.
