I enjoy Guy’s movies, so last night I rented and watched The Gentleman (2020).
I couldn’t help but notice the obvious OU/Texas underlying tease. At least, what I think is obvious. Maybe I’m wedging a coincidence into what I wanted to believe.
I won’t spoil the movie, but Matthew McConaughey is the star depicted as this slick bad *** “Gentleman,” and they have this albeit rich but very effeminate Oklahoman that is way too cocky and thinks he’s smarter than he really is.
Now I doubt Guy knows anything about OU/Texas, but I can’t help but believe Matthew made him intentionally depict this guy from Oklahoma and likely also asked Guy to add the effeminate flamboyance as a tease.
I thought it was pretty funny and a good ribbing by Matthew. The movie was great in my opinion too.
