Nice to see the financial commitment that UK is making to get the football program moving in the right direction.

I'm not surprised MB and CMS had to "sweeten the deal" to get these guys on board. In addition to pretty strong raises over their predecessors both guys apparently got 3 year deals. Not uncommon for a coordinator but still bit unusual for a "position" coach. I suspect this is what triggered the "co-coordinator" job title. Since CMS is pretty much locked in for at least 2 more years (IMO) I suppose these were "safe and responsible" deals. By all accounts, a one and done situation ala Dawson is very unlikely. I wonder if these contract will mean other position coach raises beyond Ansley and Buh?

I am expecting more and more money being given out to all the assistants to keep the staff intact. The problem is if they don't do well the school will be responsible for even more money to buyout contracts. We already have a ton still for Stoops if he gets fired in 2 years to go along with another year after that for these assistants. We better be successful with who we have or we likely will have to do a low budget hire next time.

No reason to give the other assistants any more money..Some just got raises a year ago when Mitch panicked and if this thing goes in the dumper in 1-2 yrs UK surely doesn't want to be responsible for owing these guys additional money.. Their contracts are strong now, they don't need to be given raises every time someone recruits a good player..We need victories to justify these increases.

Mitch has gone completely "All In" with Stoops. If this does not work out he is going to have UK on the hook for MILLIONS and may walk out the door with Stoops. I think he is about as invested in Stoops success as anyone can be at this point.

I agree and said it another thread. Stoops will be here until Barnhart retires - which I still believe to be in mid 2018 - I think that is when his contract is up. That means Stoops here at least 2016 and 2017. I still personally believe we will be rolling then and Mark Stoops becomes UK's legacy coach!

You need well paid staff responsible for creating those victories. While your point is well taken, to succeed in today's college football market, there is a price to pay for developing winning college football. This is SEC football my friend and it's the price you pay and the dice you roll to win.

If you saw the presser, it is clear they are currently a team.
