Anyone seen this show on Hulu?

I had a friend tell me it was up there with Breaking Bad, GoT, and The Sopranos as an all time great show.

I don't have Hulu, so I've never seen it, but that's a pretty strong endorsement. I'm skeptical.

Is it that good or is my friend an idiot?

My wife loved it..... I tried to watch the first couple episodes.....seemed like a good one for her to watch by herself.

I watched the first season only. It followed the book, which sounded good in a review, and they hired writers to come up with material for season two.
I enjoyed it. I liked that it doesn't reveal everything about the changes in society and let's you try to piece it together. It got great reviews for female empowerment and the like, but I just enjoyed it like a well written sci-fi story. Good for a couple to watch together. It's no Band of Brothers, but it's good TV.

it's horrible.

those other shows you listed were extremely well acted, with realistic (GoT classic fantasy), masculine themes whereas handmaid's is very poorly acted with the exception of the protagonist, way over the top and strains credulity at basically every turn, and themed around feminine emotions fears or dystopian paranoias... which is ultimately why it's so highly acclaimed, the same way the Oscars always fawn over some crap they write about themselves like Birdman.

but hey, if you're into that all power to you, i'm not here to piss in your cheerios just to give OP a different opinion. there's no accounting for bad taste, but I don't see how you can put this show in the same sentence as those others unless you suffer from Trump derangement syndrome, are a woman, or have lots of fears about religion.

protagonist
She’s pretty much one of my least favorite characters. Can’t stand all that just staring off into space with precisely one year coming from her eye. I’m sure she’s directed that way, but meh. Plus she’s so ... plain. Again, casted as such, but still. Give me Serena Joy all day and The Commander. I think they do a great job trying to pull some sympathy from the viewer despite being the ‘bad’ guys so far.

I haven't seen it, but based on the glowing reviews from the known effeminates above who like it, I totally believe you, and it's exactly what I suspected.

It's good, but...

I also joke that it's what Trump haters fear the future will be (I'm more of a smartass than a politard).

I'd balance it out by watching "The Man in the High Castle" and then watch "Stan Against Evil".

I've watched Stan Against Evil. I wouldn't watch Hitler Tower, or Hand Wringers Tail if you paid me. Sheer Hollyweird propaganda. WWG1WGA

It’s fine, but it is no where near the same class as those other shows listed.

I recommend "Bitter Harvest" as. a movie

And "Woodford Reserve" as a bourbon (I MAY have spelled that .....less than correctly)

And --- the Tactical Tomahawk as an affordable cruise missile

And -- the F16 over the F35

And........wait.......someone's at the door
