Sat in the lobby and watched Joe along with Sue sheparding some of their grandchildren on the way to the prebowl (Outback) pep rally. I remember thinking...there goes the best there ever was.

My dad was born in 1927, Joe in 1926, exact contemporaries, same backgrounds. My dad was a Notre Dame fan but you couldn’t say anything against Joe in front of my dad. When I think of Coach Paterno, I think of my dad and his brothers. For some reason I felt the need to explain myself, but maybe best to put me on ignore if you feel this way.

Also, my dad died before the scandal happened but if he had been alive when it went down, boy howdy would he have been Joe’s staunchest defender. Believe me.
I was a Penn State fan since 1958! Loved JOE and said HERE,HERE to all of his comments Cried when he died but IT IS TIME TO MOVE ON! GIVE IT UP AND LET IT GO !!!!

Had every opportunity to retire with honor. Chose to give Karma the middle finger by chasing his beloved "409". Anyone NOT drinking the cool aid could see there was no path to an honorable retirement, especially considering how Bowden suffered a similar fate. Bit him in the *** big time.

Was at this game. Little did I know it would be his last as coach. Strange thing is, because of all this, I witnessed both Joe's first (vs. Maryland) and last game as Penn State's head coach.
