2 in mine as well. An uncle and one of my sons. Uncle fought in Vietnam, son in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Admittedly mine are all in laws. But I love them just the same. My SILs dad served in Vietnam. Her older brother served in Mogadishu. When the younger brother went to join they both talked him into joining the Navy instead.

I also have a step nephew that was a marine. But he’s an idiot an got kicked out.

At DaNang, there were several branches of service and nationalities. Each group had responsibility for security on a section of perimeter. Some fool put us in charge of security for the area where the marine hooches were. They didn't like it one bit and I didn't blame them. I guess our guy must have been running his mouth, because that night someone threw a grenade at the base of his guard tower. No real harm done though.

I finally got around to reading With the Old Breed. Eye opening is an understatement.
