That first game was a total embarrassment on a national level. To bounce back in the very next game and beat a legitimately good Providence team is fantastic. Has to be a huge weight off their shoulders and a great early season lesson for a young team about coming to play every game.

Still several things to clean up (ball security, rebounding, etc.), but a really nice bounce back win. Got to keep building on it...and hope other opponent coaches have no desire to play zone against us.

Our zone defense was the difference. We have a lot of length that makes it tough on smaller guards. Great job by CCC realizing we CANNOT play man with this team against anybody. Providence did actually play some zone against us, but a lot of the better teams are basic man-to-man, which makes Syracuse so unusual to play against.
