They all but hired Greg Schiano in 2017 to replace Butch Jones but Clay Travis led an online troll/harassment effort to not hire him because he was supposedly tainted/involved in the Sandusky scandal. Tennessee caved and tried to hire Gundy amongst others who used them as leverage to get more money/longer contracts from their current schools. Schiano eventually went to OSU and UT hired Pruitt who ended up being a terrible hire…
