That Bennie Snell's only big school offer other than UK was Iowa. He may turn out to be the best under the radar recruit in a long time. Great find coach Stoops!

I think he's going to be one of the best RB's, we've had at UK in a long time. Decent speed, and powerful legs, with good upper body strength. He will be even better as he matures. He is only 18 years old, I think.

OLD STOLL FIELD GUY!

He's just getting started too. His strength, and vision will only get better and as the UK passing game matures it will free him up to face less loaded fronts. Another element he can develop is pass catching out of the backfield. Truly a special talent that could be one of the best backs we have ever had.

I cannot believe how many schools missed out on Snell. Why did he fly so far under the radar? Lack of speed?

I agree. Really surprising for a true freshman to come in and play like that. He's a bulldozer. He will only get better with time and maturity. Did he hit all the camps? We got lucky snagging him.

Gran even said it himself that the big question with snell was his speed. Gran watched him play basketball and said he was satisfied. I dont think anybody thought Snell would be this good.

He certainly doesn't have great speed and it is noticeable, but it doesn't matter because the kid is "one cut and run due north" and runs right through would be tacklers.

His thick legs are always churning, he's got a low center of gravity and he doesn't go down at first contact. Even better, he is heady and almost always finds a seam, and he falls forward, not back.

The kid is special. Barring injury, Snell will most likely go down as one of the best running backs to ever suit up for Kentucky.
