Is that why he took the job at SMU?
He left on his own accord, and probably had plans to do so by the end of December! Dude was miserable being on Pope’s staff, just like most of the educated portion of BBN was watching the season unfold… Except, we have to sit and watch another season as the program continues its slow burn down to the ground.

Best of luck to Jason Hart👋🏻

Hart can get the players in the room. It's up to the HC to close. Pope needs a guy who can do both since he isn't the greatest at negotiation and finishing on these contracts. I thought that would be Alvin and Hart, but idk.

Hart wasn't going to get the assistant HC position here, so the move sets him up to move up in the world of CBB coaching more quickly.

Best of luck to him.

UK fans: replace the assistant coaches
Assistant coach leaves: is it a conspiracy to blame it all on him?

We are something else.
I missed all the calls for replacing the assistants; most people blame the head coach rather than the assistants. The only ones that blame the assistant coaches are head coaches. Replacing assistants is how head coaches scapegoat. We'd have done better if I had better help. Stoops did it every year.

After a poor season, someone always falls on the sword. That’s all I was implying. TBH none of these assistant are very well known here. None of them ever go in record. Nobody ever refuted the $22 million price tag, makes me wonder how Duke, Michigan, Arizona, Arkansas, UConn and others paid for their players.

I see is at as a combo of seeing writing on the wall and taking a promotion, even if in title only. Associate HC is the last step before HC.
