I don't see why. There was no outcry when you had players with nicknames like "White Chocolate" (Jason Williams) so I don't see the issue here. Sometimes we look for things to happen when people are not really paying attention.

Avila is the inspiration for a big social media push to get ISU into the tourney as at-large after losing their conference tournament to Drake.

Wait to see how well they do in the tourney. The more press they get, the more of a chance tou have.

It'll be interesting to see if they make it at this point. Most bracketology had them as an automatic qualifier around a 9 seed based on winning their tournament, but they didn't. Obviously, as an at-large, they'd come in a bit lower than that now.

As of right now, nobody has them higher than being in the last 4 in, playing in a play-in game. Some have them as the first four out or next four out.

I think they make it. The NCAA is catching so much flack these days - why pile it on themselves? ISU is well deserving. 29 NET Ranking and 28-6 overall. And they took away the auto NIT bid from all lower conference regular season champs that don't win their tourney. I think they try and do right by ISU.

They've gotta pray there are no upsets in conference tournaments that end up eating into the at-large bids.

I've watched some of his highlights on YouTube - what an awesome looking throwback game. I see a combo of Worthy/Jabbar/Bird from the 10m or so of highlights I've watched :LOL:

I love the nickname too. Did I read somewhere he gave the nickname to himself?
