Has Stoops failed on the D line, or just bad luck?

Mostly bad luck. DL looks entirely different (and, in all probability, pretty goddamn good) this year if Meant/Tubman/Hatcher are all on the roster.
I guess a little bit of both, although I wouldn't say "failed". On one hand, we've lost some guys that we rightfully expected to have on the team, that weren't really on stoops. On the other, we haven't recruited the d line to the level that we could withstand a couple departures without a serious, serious drop off.
Zadarius, and Bud both were early picks. CJ Johnson was one of our better defenders last year. Melvin Lewis was pretty good as was Hatcher before being kicked. It's not the DL that I've been most disappointed with. LB production outside of 2 or 3 people has been awful.
