I didn’t know PSU was still playing?!? I thought we were eliminated and the next game in Beaver Stadium will be hockey?!?

Yes and no. To be honest, my interest in PSU football has been dropping for a few years now. It’s been the definition of insanity watching the same issues kill this team week after week, year after year, but hoping this is the week they put it together…..only to see the same.

On the flip side, it has increased my interest in college football elsewhere. We’ve been taking a trip each year to a different location to see the experience at other schools. I’ve grown to appreciate some of the smaller schools. They may not have the talent of Bama but the experience of campus gameday is different and better in some ways.

I’m trying to get to as many as I can before they all start ‘upgrading’ into the more corporate/ modern ways and ruining that old time feel. Places like Colorado, Oregon State, Air Force, etc have their own charms even though it’s not big time football. I’m trying to get to Pullman to see Washington St before they fall too far with the collapse of the old PAC 12.

After 40 years of season tickets I gave up my seats in 2010, before Sandusky hit. The reasons were many, but in hindsight, I wish I had done it sooner. The money saved has been enormous, and I have more time to spend with my grandchildren, playing guitar, painting, reading, and enjoying golden years with my wife. That said, the 40 years were filled with some great times in an era when I thought State College was the Camelot of College Football. An 8-3 season was not a tragedy because I thought we were doing it the right way... above board and with true student athletes. Today I see players with limited academic accountability and no loyalty, who make more money than I do. So be it. College football has changed and so have I. My days of enjoying the game are over, but my life is better than ever.

I hate to say it, but there’s a little embarrassment. If you’re an alum, and people know it, they have a little smugness about the season.

I'm watching games and trying to take the perspective of a PS fan, play calls, coaching,
effort, officiating ,and dealing with rumors.
Of course with the natural dislike for ND, OSU, and MIch.

Doing the same. I like how Kiffen has built the Ole Miss team.
His win today and his "relatively easy" 4 game stretch prolly further reduces any already slim chance of a Kraft pick up. Ruhl wins over NW to keep himself in he driver's seat to Lasch.
Won a Scotty Cameron putter yesterday at a golf outing. That will most likely be the highlight of the next few weekends.

It’s less stressful to be honest. I enjoy college football overall (not rabidly but I love a good game/match up) and will sit with a drink and watch if I can. Without having to worry about the inevitable fall losses, can just relax and enjoy. High pressure coaching search is extra fun.

Same. We attended a game @ Tennessee last year and a game @ Ole Miss this year. PSU football weekends are way too pricey.

It all comes down to--are you a college football fan that roots for Penn State or are you a Penn State fan that dislikes college football?

At least we have 4 losses. Don’t have to think about the possibility of making the playoff if this team loses and that team upsets that team.
Still making the 10 hour drive in two
Weeks to watch psu Indiana. Franklin not going to rain on my parade.

I've been trying to make a fun road trip each year. This year I was planning on our first non-home playoff game. Guess that's not happening. Was gonna do Iowa since I've not been there. Glad I didn't.

My son will be home for Thanksgiving from out of state, so he and I are thinking about shooting down for the Rutgers game since he hasn't seen any games this year.

Q: Does Rutgres count as a fun road trip???

No it doesn't sound fun

You were planning on spending money to go to a bowl game. I'd suggest finding a big SEC game that weekend and go. Or maybe Georgia-Georgia Tech if it's that week (might be the week before)

I'm visiting East Lansing on 11/15 to accompany one of my best friends who is an MSU graduate. I don't know what to expect. The last time I was there was 1994.
I did a Friday night game a few years ago... The day after we started the season on Thursday night at Purdue.

We had to park really far from the stadium, and it was impossible to catch an Uber after the game so be careful where you park.

Vandy/Mizzou game good reason to keep watching college football. What a game. Shame about Beau though.

Bizarre though. I’m watching a db from Vanderbilt talking smack and I’m thinking this is a school that asks students to have a 1500 SAT. What is incongruent here?
