It's an HBO movie, it's finished, it's got a great cast -- including Michael Keaton as Batman -- but WB CEO David Zaslav is shifting the DCEU's focus to theatrical movies, so WB's decided to cut its losses and shelve the film indefinitely to recoup some of its costs in tax breaks.
That's really unusual. I can't think of many movies that were completed then shelved -- offhand, just Roger Corman's Fantastic Four and Jerry Lewis's The Day the Clown Cried. And those cost relatively nothing to make.
I wonder what WB will end up doing with The Flash.
