lead team USA in scoring against Uruguay in Americup (whatever that is). It was a close game throughout and Hearn hit a bunch of big shots. He also guarded Uriguay's best player. Real happy for him.

The game was on ESPN classic I think. I would imagine viewership was very small. I just happened to turn it on and saw Hearn was playing. Would have kept channel surfing if he wasn't playing

Hearn missed being the leading scorer by one point; still had a very good outing against the host team, in a fairly close game (single-digit margin of victory)... 6/12 3/6 scoring 15 with 4 D-Rbs in 23 and a half minutes:

It was on ESPNU, running against Roger Federer in the US Open, so I'm sure the viewership wasn't high, but Hearn was instrumental in the US winning the game in front of a hostile Uruguyan crowd. Despite not starting, he played the 2nd-most minutes of anyone on the team, including the final 15 minutes of the game, and had the best +/- on the team while scoring 10 of his 15 points in the final 12 minutes. They play again today at 4pm in a game they should win.

Not sure what "should" means here (they will probably win, vs they need this win).

Anyway, I may as well point out that if the US do win they will advance to the semi-finals for sure...however if they lose they may or may not advance depending upon the other game...for example if both the US and Uruguay lose, the US would finish in a two-way tie for first with the team they would have just lost to (the D.R.)...obviously that team would have the tie-breaker over the US and would advance to semis (leaving the US out)...if there was a 3-way tie tie-breakers would be more complicated...Obviously, the US would much rather win, and advance not matter what.

One of the worst decisions (in hindsight) was to play Hearn his frosh year.

Those 25 mins cost Hearn from coming back for a 5th year and he would have fortified the backcourt (but no one could have imagined Hearn turning into what he did).

Hearn was largely ineffective in yesterday's game, but the US won easily and will play Saturday at 4:30 in another game they should win against the Virgin Islands, in which case they will most likely face Argentina in the final at 7pm on Sunday.
