I agree, but if you compare the numbers, Jackson's stats are stupid good. The 5-3 team record is killing his chances though. A 9-3 team record with his stupid good stats would put him in the front row seating for the awards ceremony.
Stat wise, he should be the front runner. The award is supposed to go to the best player in college football. Not the best player on the best team in college football. Last year he won because the voters remembered that main criteria. This year he seems to be an afterthought although his stats are just as impressive if not more so.
It is much easier to be the best player on the best team.

He would be the runaway choice for the Heisman today - without question.
I would prefer having Bama’s DL. Our OL is fine, or Lamar wouldn’t be having the year he’s having.
I think Barkley has the buzz Lamar had this time last year. Plus, if he goes off at Ohio State this weekend, he may be the run away winner. If the Buckeyes handle him and beat PSU, then the race remains open. Bryce Love, who I haven't seen play, but just looking at this rushing yards, how is he not the front runner?

If we had even a decent defense we are at least 7-1 and Lamar is right there in the hunt. This has nothing to do with who the most outstanding player is. It’s not even close on that.
