He at least needs to get an invite. To not would be criminal.
Stat wise, he should be the front runner. The award is supposed to go to the best player in college football. Not the best player on the best team in college football. Last year he won because the voters remembered that main criteria. This year he seems to be an afterthought although his stats are just as impressive if not more so.

I think Barkley has the buzz Lamar had this time last year. Plus, if he goes off at Ohio State this weekend, he may be the run away winner. If the Buckeyes handle him and beat PSU, then the race remains open. Bryce Love, who I haven't seen play, but just looking at this rushing yards, how is he not the front runner?

Good point. Love is tearing it up. I'm a bit baffled by that too.

Still, and yes I am a homer, but Lamar Jackson should be at least mentioned. His stats are sic.

There is a bias against West coast guys. They don’t get the exposure.
