Probably. There are plenty of old people here.

This is my old board name going back to chats with Phil when everyone would fight with each other and the chat was so cluttered you couldn't find Phil's replies.

“Here” since plotit days. I just don’t talk much anymore since the same know-it-alls dominate so many threads and turn them into pizzen matches.
Same handle? I joined Plot-It (as “Jim”) just in time for the 1999 season. I didn’t out myself as a deaf mathematician until 2008 or so. (Someone called me a quitter and I wasn’t having it.)

As far as I recall. I was “psublue” on early ESPN boards before Tom’s early plotit venture - used to interact with Noles and Bucks there for a year or two, and even met up with a few on Capitol Hill.

Same here. Same handle. Been on the McAndrew Board since the early plotit days.

I just realized in another year or two it will be 30 years on the board. Can’t believe it’s been that long.

Name I remember, prank no. Please indulge…
In those days, message boards were like the Wild West. No registration required. People could post under whatever handle they wanted, even someone else's. Order was only kept by the moderators who had to evaluate every post.

Anyway, on a UCLA forum, someone posted about this stud RB/LB prospect from West Buttfvck, OR named Joe Gyzb. Six-three, 235, 4.4 forty. Everyone wanted him. Favorite schools: UCLA, USC, and ..........ASWP (b/k/a Pitt for the uninitiated).

Then someone (I'm assuming the same person that posted on the UCLA forum), posted a link on a Pitt forum. The ASWPers went batschit crazy. "Who is this guy?" Why haven't we heard anything about him?" "What position do the coaches want him for?" "Gotta get him!" "Has to be number one on our list!!!" Monopolized their conversation for the better part of two days. When their mods tried to tamp it down, the natives filleted them. Finally died on its own.

Later there was a poster on the fora that succeeded Plotit who took the handle "Joe Gyzb." The perpetrator of the prank? Who knows?

Lavar Arrington was part of the recruiting class the year I started with the original board. It's not quite half my lifetime, but it's not that far from it.

Remember a poster with the handle Cefalo78 who claimed to be the actual Jimmy Cefalo? There was this one poster who went on and on about how this guy was NOT Jimmy Cefalo and Cefalo78 insisting he was. Eventually the fraud came to light when Cefalo78 mentioned his TD in the Super Bowl and named the wrong quarterback who threw that pass.
