We have pieces to make a run in march. Even finish in the top 5-6 in the league. But this team has got to start playing with a mentality of every play matters. And when u get a team down u have to step on their throat till the buzzer sounds. This team can guard at times. They can run beautiful often and score boat loads. But for some reason they have lapses where they just have so much casual play like they don’t think it matters. Well u are at the University of Kentucky. IT MATTERS. We care more than u care it seems like sometimes. So if they ever develop this mindset they sky is the limit. But until then we are capable of losing to any team in the sec

Our losses outside of Bama;

All away from home. All against teams ranked between 28-38. Good enough to beat you, not good enough to ensure we’re at our most focused.

It’s becoming a trend.
Yes. This team has a serious problem with becoming casual and not focused. And for a group of players that haven’t ever been on this stage, I would expect them to be the exact opposite

They missed Carr on the inside, and had some head scratching turn overs, like they were lost.

I’ll add to this, we trailed at half in all 4 games. Our top 5 efficiency offense, that also plays at a top 35 tempo has averaged 30.25 first half points those games.

I thought we had a chance to look decent in March . Maybe get to the sweet 16.

As of now I don’t know what to expect . You can’t keep falling behind and having to comeback . That will catch up with you in March .

One of this team’s biggest issues is that they don’t have a go-to scorer. We have a lot of guys who a score, but we don’t have an alpha that will go get buckets when we need them. That is an absolute killer come tourney time, and will probably cost us a few more games before then.

This was a game that should been won when you are up 58-51 with 9 mins you have to win that game.
I hear ya. I also don’t think it’s reasonable to expect to continue a +21 half on the road in conference play.

The game was lost in the first half much more than the final two TV timeouts of action.

NCAA Tournament will be wild, many teams can make a run. I hope we are one of them. I know when we play good ball we are dangerous. Get healthy and make the field with a decent seed and hope it all starts clicking
I agree with you with one caveat. I may be in a very small minority, (maybe only one) but other than not wanting to be an 8/9 seed, I just don't think seeding matters that much this year. Certain matchups might be an issue but not seeding because there are so many "good" teams that are so close.

Year One.

Started from scratch.

Ranked in the top 10 much of the season.

We are ahead of schedule.

The SEC is very strong.

Honestly, I didn’t think we would be this good, this soon.
It's the fringe weekend fans that are nervous.

I thought Oweh gave us that in some ways today.

This is a good post. This team cannot waste a single possession. I love Oweh but three pointers aren't his game. That late three be took and missed was a killer. This team needs maximum efficiency. We could have easily won the last two instead of losing them if we would just value each possession.

UK has been down at least 7 points in 9 first halves this season. We spot teams big leads and it’s starting to come back to bite us.

This team doesn’t have the alpha or defense to make a serious run. You need a guy who you know can get a bucket, Kentucky doesn’t have that. You also have to be good defensively, Kentucky is not that at all

Otega Oweh's 2-point shooting percentage is 89% of what Johni Broome's is.

Otega Oweh's 3-point shooting percentage is 122% of what Johni Broome's is.

In my opinion "a guy who can go get a bucket" is more a cultural motif than an actual thing.
