Kind of a push shot instead of a jump-shot....but looks like his range is deep

Wow, that IS a push shot.

He would not be able to get that shot off if guarded closely. However, in Pope's offense, with multiple outside shooters, he'll still get open looks.

Plus it looks like he has a pretty quick release

72% FG around the rim. I dig it. 41%/38% from each wing, 50% from the corner 3. Feels like a perfect 3 and D wing. A more upside version of Almonor who can drive. Oh and 1.388PPP in transition. That is almost 90th percentile. This kid has serious upside.

(Not argumentative @ you…just a different perspective)

I think the “low release/can’t get it off” concept is largely over exaggerated.

Ppl claimed Reeves would have trouble getting his shot off as well; Curry and Trey young (and many other modern shooters) both have low release at 6’3 and have no trouble getting shot off. Williams is 6’7.5. It’s more about the fluidity and quickness of the release than about the “set” point. I’d rather have someone with a quick/efficient release than the overhead windup of yesteryear like T.Jones and Wiltjer…and even Walls college 3 ball form.

Seeing as how he averaged <2 2pt baskets per game, this video seems to show every one of them.
As for his 3pt shot, it reminds me of Edwards. It's a little bit slow (like Edwards was).

You're exactly right. Of course, a guard would traditionally be quicker, enabling a quicker shot. Regardless, good point. I was concerned about Reeves in the beginning as well.

Long and smooth athlete, not explosive. Movement reminds me of Jaxson Robinson a bit. Will be interesting to see how he develops.

It was said when he committed he was on the nba’s radar. We added so much talent with the 3 freshmen and 4 transfers. Then you have Oweh Chandler and Garrison we aren’t gonna be in the situation we were last year if a few guys go down.
