I'm not even a UofL fan. Or a UofL hater.


Totally unbiased, outsider point of view. This guy is going through the motions. His heart is not in it at all and he will lose the locker room soon. Guys, I am a 25 year fan of Indiana football. I have seen more bad coaches and bad teams than you can shake a stick at. Your program is doomed untill he is gone. It's not going to get better. No untill you bring Jeffrey Football down from West Laughyette. Good luck.

You know it’s bad when you have 25 year fans of IU football calling out your coach and program.

IU football fans shouldn’t be calling anyone out. Their program is one of the worst in college football history.

Why is everyone jumping on the OP? He came to our board and said nothing disrespectful at all. Some of you all need to chill out.

FK, it's hard to disagree with you honestly. BP is sitting on a huge paycheck, much larger if he gets canned. We will see what happens, but I know I'd sure love to be in his financial position.

Yeah, let's just discredit a guy's reasonable opinion because he went to a different school or is a fan of a different program.

I've heard the theory, but I'm not really buying it. I tend to agree with Rutherford's take on this ... sure, he can get fired from this job and pocket his $14 million (a very high percentage of which will go to Uncle Sam) and ride off into the sunset. But he has a son and two sons-in-law on the staff. I doubt he has any intention of supporting them for the rest of their lives ... so the best way out of this mess for him is to turn it around with his family members' help. They get promotions as a result.

I am a Bama fan and alum with strong ties to the Cards. I told a friend of mind recently that something is wrong up there ... Petrino does not seem to have his heart in this season. I believe Cards have way too much talent to be playing the way they are. Sumpin just ain;t rite!

Well, it could be two things. His boss and ardent supporter is gone, and, his dad passed away right before the season started. Petrino Sr. had a huge impact on BP's coaching career. But, tossing those aside, there have been moments of "wtf" the last few seasons now.

I disagree. The time to replace Bobby is if he follows up a losing season this year with a second losing season next year.

Not only would the buyout be less, we would also have more information about whether Jeff Brohm can challenge for the championship of a division at the Power5 level.

Frankly, I don't see the urgency at this point. We rebounded very nicely from three losing seasons under Kragthorpe, so (if it comes to it, and I'm not convinced it will) we can definitely survive back-to-back losing seasons under one of the very best coaches UofL has ever had.
