Hey Fitty........
Stayin safe and enjoyin life......just finished Bike Week and now its the Spring Breakers invasion. MCP ALERT!!! I will say that these young gals in bikinis(read pieces of thread) are a whole lot easier on the these old eyes than the old guys and gals in their leather and tats. Nothing against old guys and gals with tats as I am a member (no tats yet, been thinking about a SpongeBob or Plankton on the old triceps) of that club, but the drive home sure is scenic and I dont mean the ocean. And I drive real slowwwwwwwwww to make it last.
Was talking music with a coworker the other day and an old memory came back to me and I was wondering if any of you longtimers remember the Boomer Theater in Norman when it was a live music venue? I worked there for a few shows and remembered some of the acts that I got to see...
.John Mayhal and the Bluesbreakers( I was their dressing room guard). Good eats and some other sundries that I can not mention. Damn Good Music
Jerry Jeff Walker...was so drunk that he could not get onstage and it ended up being his band that gave a great show. I believe that most the guys were from Vassar Clements band at the time. A Great guitar player whos name escapes me but I remember that gold top Les Paul, rocked the house. Outlaw cowboy music my ***, that was some of the best blues, rock jazz fusion that I have ever heard...
Jimmy Spheeris...a very existential experience. Alot of incense was burned that night. At least I think it was incense.
George Thorogood and the Delaware Destroyers..backstage security and a rocking good time was has by all that night.
and a few more that I cant remember for some unknown reason..
So if any of yall remember a Bighairydude with long blonde hair and a big red beard and wearing a Falls Creek Baptist Assembly t-shirt that is me...or what was me back in the day...I am incognito nowadays..
