Hey, do we believe in Scottie Lindsey?

He's the real deal. Best player on the team right now. Law is second, a slumping BMac a distant third.
His year to date stats are virtually identical to Law's. But my guess is most were expecting less of Lindsey, so he appears to be playing that much better than Law. I think Lindsey will be rock solid consistent in what he can do. His offensive fundamentals are really good, and his demeanor is as steady as they come. That will serve him well. My concern for him is that his defensive matchups in the BIG will often be tougher than he has faced thus far. And he is not especially quick, or explosive, in anything he does. Yes, he can dunk with ease. But that is more a function of his length than his fast twitch explosiveness. He'll have to be smart and efficient, with help from his teammates, to continue to get a lot of good looks. But when he does, I think he will consistently deliver.
While B-Mac is indispensable, let's give some love to the 3 headed forward position being manned by Lumpkin, Skelly and Taphorn. We're getting great production from that position, and their collective contribution is equal to or better than any other position group we have. They are the reason this team is humming. Law and Lindsey and B-Mac owe much of their individual success to the respect opponents have to pay those guys.

Great thread! Lindsey is my favorite player! We have seven or eight solid team players! Very tough team next year!
Lindsey has been great so far. A lot of opponents have focused on stopping McIntosh which has led to good looks for both Lindsey and Law. As coaches adjust to their success, I expect McIntosh to get more quality looks and shoot a higher percentage.

Scottie and Gavin have both been terrific this year! I think both were considered "projects" in recruiting, and have both developed very well. I think as much as anything, it speaks to the player development aspect of this staff. Both of these guys have worked very hard to get better, and it's definitely showing in their 3rd year in the program. I think none of us were really sure what to expect of Vic this year coming off the shoulder surgery, and despite his struggles shooting the ball on Sunday, I think he's been really good as well!
I really see Jordan - Ash getting 20 25 minutes a game going forward. Jordan has clearly put himself as the number two point guard

Their playing time will be situationally dependent. Against a hot scoring opposing guard = Ash. In need of a scoring punch = Brown. CCC said that as well in his post-game press conference.
I think Lindsay is developing into the player I thought he could be and its fun to watch. For me to totally buy in though, Scottie has to totally buy in.... meaning, he needs to accept and embrace that he is a great player and demand the ball in key situations. I think he is the guy who can make the play down the stretch or get that big bucket at a tense moment of the game when we really need a score. He has to want to step up in those situations. Once I see him do that, then I'll know he has totally arrived. I think we'll see it in BIG play this year.
He also said, " we don't have that many guys". I think both will get minutes, with the edge going to Isiah given his higher upside. The only way to get experience is play and accept he will make Freshman mistakes.
Brown just has to settle down a little bit, and stop trying to do too much. He has to stop trying to do it all when he has the ball in his hands.
I think the ebb we're seeing is well timed. He'll accept what's going on around him and be a better player at the end of the month when conference play starts.
