Have a buddy that coaches football at Desoto. Today I called him to get his opinion. He told me 2 weeks ago Bolden told him he was going to Duke. His reason was he likes how K has developed low post players. He liked Kentucky but he was very discouraged how Cal used his low post and how they weren't in the gameplan. He sees PT at Duke and definite shot at the pros

Off the court, he said Bolden was an awesome kid. Works hard and is very polite. I hope he's right with all this because Dukes roster next year would be ridiculous. Go Blue Devils!!!!!

Hmm, that's interesting he'd say that given the success Calipari had with Cousins, Davis, and Towns, among others.

You are naming sure 1st round top picks. Kids that didnt need coaching or didnt need college in that matter. He's talking about Marshall, Zoubek, Jefferson, and so many others for Duke compared to these from Kentucky. Lee has went down hill. Skal was considered a top pick but faded bad this year. One is WKS who didn't develop until his Junior year. K has a track record of developing bigs

Right, and there are others like Dakari Johnson and Daniel Orton who didn't do much. I think seeing Davis go for only 2 points in the 'ship game probably would raise eyebrows (or in his case, an eyebrow). It's now a matter of logistics regarding how Bolden gets on the team, i.e who loses a scholly besides Robinson.

Bolden knows what his future holds. He has an outside shot at a first round pick because of his measurables alone. I'd say he'll be two and done, but we'll see. A OAD worthy Bolden would equal National Title for whoever he chooses.

He needs to work on his on court motor. He's known to drift, though he did improve that some this season at DeSoto.

Lol...as tight lipped as Bolden's camp has been it's amazing how many people Bolden & his camp have supposedly "let the cat out of the bag" to over the last week.

I believe Bolden is Dukes but I don't believe all these people saying "Marques told them" stories.

Anybody who has said "I heard from Marques" isn't telling full truths. A lot of info has been coming from body language, clothing choices and he said, she said. People with reputable info have been making judgments based on moves being made by office people. Not coaches, but advisers, admissions, etc.

Wednesday is official signing day. Lots of moves being made by lots of people.

Bolden is considered OAD. I don't see that changing no matter where he goes.

It's kind of ridiculous saying that Cal doesn't use big men inside or properly giving his success. He's been known for pg's but recently he's been known for the big guys.

But from what all I've "Read" everything's pointing towards Duke now. He seems like a great kid and no matter whether he picks Duke or UK I would say there's not a bad option. Good luck.

I'm sure Capel will discuss the scholarship situation and Bolden's role in addition to the vision/expectations for next year. I don't think Capel has to sell Duke but more of just reassuring him that Going to Duke will satisfy all of his "wants". Ability to be an impact in the post, ability to be a regular in the rotation, the potential of being OAD, the dream of winning a National Title and being part of the #1 recruiting class.

I will never believe anything that comes out of a recruit's mouth until they officially announce ever since my friend ran into Livingston years ago. He asked him straight to his face if he was going to Duke and Livingston said yes. We see how that played out lol. It's all one big secret game until the big reveal. Heck, the recruits even have fun throwing people off the trail. I do tend to trust the insiders when they start to lean towards certain schools but never the whole friend of friend that works at a kiosk in a mall etc etc...

Livingston fully expected to attend Duke. That year was a fluke. NBA Execs lost their collective minds. First time ever that a point guard went straight to the NBA. Any other year and Livingston and the PG from NYC would have spent at least one year in college. Shortly after, the rules changed because they knew they couldn't trust themselves.

Yeah, I don't fault Livingstone. It wasn't another school. It was the NBA - no different than the choice Brand or Parker or the three freshmen from last year made, imo. If it were a 'one-and-done' rule Livingstone and Kobe would have played at Duke. I root for both as though they were grads (but I've been a Kobe fan his whole career regardless of that knowledge).

I sure do hope Bolden comes here. While there are a lot of tea leaves and inside info out there, until a recruit signs, I think teams are a bit nervous even if confident.

Bolden is gravy for whoever gets him at this point. And if we don't get him, I expect we will make a push for Jarrett Allen, who is similarly ranked.

See ya'll in the FF next year.

I'd like Bolden. The 247 crystal balls seem to suggest we're in a good position. But I wouldn't be surprised either way; nor do I think it's absolutely critical either. I'd like to get him b/c he'd give us a bit more flexibility to match up against teams with bigger 5s and allow us to withstand an injury to Jefferson or Jeter. But, in the end of the day, I think a healthy 8 man rotation of Jackson, Giles, Tatum, Allen, Kennard, Jeter, Jefferson, and Jones is more than enough to win a national title -- and, frankly, if we ever face a gut check moment next year like we had against Wisconsin in the NCAAs in 14-15, I strongly suspect that it will be Jefferson -- and not Bolden -- who will be out there.

I saw a post that (i think it was him, not 100%) he put on twitter saying how he committed to Duke.

I noticed that it had "#22" on there. Does anyone know if J Will give him permission to wear his number or something?

Bolden should have enough class and I think he does not to ask for it. #22 was retired for a reason. OFC

I wouldn't count my chickens just yet; remember, Cal can always call Bolden and make him feel guilty about "choosing the wrong school." You hear me, Terrence Jones?
