Wow, Headrick seems to indicate that this injury to Anu is pretty severe and that he might miss a 'significant,' amount of time. Will get move information in a bit.
Well, Mingione says Anu injured his hamate bone. Not sure when or how that happened, but I think that is an injury that could be anywhere between 2-6 weeks.
Quick inning for Stupp. Got a couple outs in the field and then a strikeout. Good to see him getting through the 1st without giving up a run.

Not sure if it is the exact same injury, but both are to the hand/wrist. I think Hill had some complications with it being properly diagnosed and then finding the right person to fix it. His was bad enough that it wouldn't just fix itself and had to have surgery. If I recall, his happened when he and Shelby collided. So, I'm not sure how this happened to Anu. I don't remember him falling or anything on Wednesday.

Headrick saying that Stupp's velocity has dropped a bit from the beginning of the season. Doesn't sound like it is a big drop, but he states that he believes that this could be good for Stupp because he might get more action on the sinker with the lower velocity. Pretty interesting.

He didn't get hit by a pitch, so it would have to be on an instance where he was running. He reached only one time and on that one he was thrown out at second on a FC. There wasn't a close play on it and he didn't have to slide or anything. So, if he got hit by the ball in the Ohio game it had to be something very random.

Harris aggressive as he runs to third on a ball hit to the short stop and High Point decides to take the easy out at first instead of getting him hung up. It worked, but that is a base running mistake from Harris. He can't do that against better defenses.
Thrasher lines into left for a single. 3-0 UK. Thrasher steals second.
Ritter grounds out to short and Thrasher himself also goes over to third. UK aggressive taking third on grounders in front of them, but that one was more in the hole I believe, so not as dangerous for Thrasher to move up on that one.

High Point hitter is hit in the head. He ducked and that led to him getting one off the dome. Mingione out to argue that the batter ducked into the pitch and that he shouldn't be awarded first on that. I have to say, personally, I don't like that. Dude took it off the helmet. No way he purposefully ducked into a pitch to dangerously take it off the head. That's one you just let go and don't run out there to argue with blue about.
Ehh, I think we just look at this is taking care of business. It isn't exciting or really impressive, but you get the wins and wait until league play.
I think he just likes to argue HAHA!! If it was a UK player that got hit in the head, he would expect a base.
It just seems like a bad look to me to argue that one there. We're playing a game, and while important, it isn't as important as that kid's health. So, knowing that he could have gotten injured should take priority over the extremely small possibility that he ducked into a pitch to get hit in the head.

Regarding Anu's injury, I know that it can happen just from a swing of the bat.
I remember when Jose Ramirez had the same injury a few years ago and he fractured his on a swing. It was a freak thing, but it CAN happen that way.
And since we have no other obvious evidence to the contrary, I'm assuming that is what happened to Anu.

Thanks, I didn't know you could injure it from that. If that is the case, then that makes the most sense of how it happened.
I can't speak to it being his personality all the time, but he certainly seemed to be acting like one in this situation.
By the way, I also thought it was odd that in the 9th inning of the Ohio game on Wednesday the camera panned over to Mingione in the dugout and he and Estep were chatting and laughing about something as UK was down a run and needing some offense to get back into the game. Again, just a bad look to not be actually focused on the game in the most crucial half inning.

I find this an interesting decision. I figured they'd want to see someone go as long as possible to save more arms for game 2, but they might try everyone getting an inning?
Mercy rule in place in this game, so UK just needs 1 more run and 1 more inning to end this one early.
