I think Gran will be great, but honestly I believe Hinshaw will be the key to our success on offense. I thought we needed a QB coach last year and it hurt quite a bit during the season. Both Towles and Barker could have used an ex QB who could teach them the mental and physical aspects of being a SEC QB, and Hinshaw has that experience. Barker has all the tools and honestly I believe this is the key to making the OC look really good. We will see.

Dawson was the QB coach. Brown before that. Neither of which played QB is the point they were making. Both Brown and Dawson had a history of developing QBs however so I'm not sure how big a factor that will be.

I would think having a designated QB coach will make the biggest difference is during a game. An offensive coordinator must be thinking more about reviewing the previous possession/reviewing the next series than talking to his QB while the defense is on the field.
