I like the fact that Hinshaw isn't afraid to play one. Hoak could get a look.

To me, that shows that everybody will get their fair shot. Drew Barker, Gunnar Hoak, and Stephen Johnson (if he comes to Kentucky). Whoever the best option is will get the starting job, and we should be very happy with that.

Going along with that, I do t expect for there to be much of a competition. Hinshaw knows good QB play and it should be easier for him to pick a starter than it was for our last two coordinators.

For sure. More importantly, he knows what good QB play looks like in the SEC. I definitely hope we get that Stephen Johnson kid. Adds an entirely new dimension to our offense. If he comes here, I think his ability to effectively make plays with his feet will give him serious consideration for the starting job.

If Barker doesn't win the job in the spring will he be content to stay and be a backup?

He shouldn't be content with being a backup. He should battle for it every day in practice, but he should be content with staying at Kentucky and battling for it, rather than getting a guaranteed starting job at a smaller school with him being a redshirt sophomore.
He needs to earn it, just like everybody else.

I am very satisfied we now have a dedicated, respected quarterback coach to sort out the position and coach that individual to be the best he can be.
