To me, that shows that everybody will get their fair shot. Drew Barker, Gunnar Hoak, and Stephen Johnson (if he comes to Kentucky). Whoever the best option is will get the starting job, and we should be very happy with that.
Going along with that, I do t expect for there to be much of a competition. Hinshaw knows good QB play and it should be easier for him to pick a starter than it was for our last two coordinators.
If Barker doesn't win the job in the spring will he be content to stay and be a backup?
I am very satisfied we now have a dedicated, respected quarterback coach to sort out the position and coach that individual to be the best he can be.He shouldn't be content with being a backup. He should battle for it every day in practice, but he should be content with staying at Kentucky and battling for it, rather than getting a guaranteed starting job at a smaller school with him being a redshirt sophomore.
He needs to earn it, just like everybody else.
