Well, when I heard that Dawson was let go, getting the combo of Gran/Hinshaw was pretty much my dream scenario. If it happens, I'll be thrilled.
Hinshaw is an excellent young coach and he would be an ideal candidate a few years down the road to replace Gran as OC should he leave for another job.

How ,anybody that knows ,would they affect recruiting,i mean area ,are they good what do you guys that know think
If Gran is to coach the RBs, where does that leave Scott? It would seem more logical for Gran to coach the WRs.
Gran is one helluva RB coach. But since Gran has coached WRs in the past and Scott has never coached that position (as far as I know anyway), I would imagine Scott continues as RB coach.
I knew Darin back from his Middle Tennessee days. He coached the RB's for the first couple of yrs, but then went on to be the OC after Larry Fedora left......and did a darn good job. He's a bright star that I think will be end up being a HC before too long just like Fedora before him.
Just when I decide not to get excited about next FB season, it pulls me back in.
I think it's also exciting who we may have coaching here. In an ideal world, Stoops will be our version of Bowden/Paterno.......be successful and retire here. However, history tells us that he will leave in some form or fashion far more likely.
However (assuming reports are true) we will have a few really good young coaching stars come through here: Neal Brown, Derrick Ansley, Tee Martin, Darrin Hinshaw, Vince Marrow, etc.
The coaching world seems to be cyclical in nature. Guys follow guys and go back to where they've been. Neal Brown for example turned down a few HC offers at a few places just to come back to be OC at "his school" UK. Then during the unexpected departure of Troy's long time HC, Brown jumped at a chance to become the HC at the school where he cut his coaching teeth.
So, you just never know. We may be seeing these guys leave and come back at some point.

I once read that "old" is always ten years older than you are, and think about it, it makes sense to me. So, while you may be 35 or younger so he is old, to me he is a young man.
The other definition of old that I really like is that old is when you quit lying about your age and start bragging about it.
