That's what but me in a position to make decent money, I'm worked every weekend for over a decade besides my 3weeks vacation a year, but finding someone to wanna earn instead of be given is a lost now n days.

Shoot, if I was in Lexington I'd do that as a second job....
Same here. I seriously considered purchasing a second home in downtown Lex back a couple years ago (2019) for 60K when prices were sane.

Real talk. What kind of hours are usually available any given week?
Most events are Thursday thru Sunday. They typically last 4-7 hours. You can work as many or as few events as you’d like. Super flexible schedule. We are very busy right now because everybody is making up weddings and other events that were canceled in 2020 due to Covid.

Yeah the hotel I work at went from hosting 1 or 2 weddings a month to 2 or 3 a weekend. A lot of the venues and vendors in Louisville are having trouble keeping up with the demand

I feel your pain. I’ve worked every weekend for as long as I can remember. I sit on my butt and wager on sports Saturdays and Sundays, it’s rough. This on top of 60 hours Monday through Friday!

So basically, you're talking 16-28 hours a week working weekends. Who were the people doing the job before? Sounds like a good retiree or college student job, except for the weekend work. Several of my fellow retirees who had part time jobs either quit or were let go during Covid, and decided they weren't going back. I had a job making $21 per hour working for my old employer while we were back in Tennessee for the summer, but I quit after 6 weeks because it wasn't worth the health risk.

I used to work in a job where for a good chunk of the year I was working 7 days a weeks, day shift seven days a week along with nights in some capacity roughly 3-4 times a week putting in 60ish hours a week. Only way I ever even consider going back into ajob requiring those kind of working hours is if I'm having to choose between the job or being homeless. What good is the money if I never have the time and/or energy to do anything in what little free time I actually have?

I had Saturdays where football would play at 1, so I'd get in to work at 9-10 am. Then soccer would follow at 7 pm. By the time I got finished with everything for both games, it would be pushing Sunday before I was done. Luckily we rarely had games on Sundays, other than baseball because of weather postponements, but Sunday's would be spent getting reports out (because they would be due 9 am Monday and I wasn't about to get in super early Monday to get that **** done) and doing highlight videos from the previous day. Can't believe I subjected myself to that dumb **** at two different employers for 12 years. Wasted a good chunk of my 20s and 30s of doing not much more than working.

Don't know how the hell some of my colleagues at other schools worked schedules like this and found a way to have time for a spouse and kids.
