Anyone with the knowledge to post a brief but illuminating scouting report of Hofstra? I'm pretty sure their top scorers are a pair of 6'3" guards? What are their gamess? Does Caleb get one of them? It also looks like we have a height advantage at the five. Hope we don't fall into the trap of forcing the ball into Cliff.

Seems like they like to run and gun with their two star guards, who take almost 30 shots per game between them, and lots of threes (at a 40% clip).

Their guards also turn the ball over quite a bit, and as a team they are not great on the boards.

I say we press them, force their guards inside the arc, and let Cliff roam the paint as a rim protector.

Offensively let’s use Paul’s size or Simpson’s quickness to get in the paint, take it to the hole or look for Cliff on lobs, plus Simpson and Caleb pull-up 2-point jumpers and Cam, Hyatt, and Oskar at the arc. Then crash the boards and look for put-backs.

Teams that shoot the three proficiently have been a real problem for us this year, especially during the back half of the schedule. We beat a couple teams, PSU twice, based more on their inability to hit open looks from 3 than due to our perimeter D

If they have a center who's not an offensive threat, we may we able to stick more with out men and do less doublin down.

Think Penn State is the closest comparison on a smaller team that shoots 3s well and we did well against them

Their have average tempo so don’t push the nor slow it down. They absolutely don’t rebound offensively or defensively.
They do turn it over. They shoot very well from 3 and way above average from long 2. A very low % of their shots are close 2s
.
They need to shoot high % to win that is their game

They have some NJ guys, two from St Benedict’s and one from Roselle Catholic- no idea of their ability

We did, but they shot uncharacteristically bad from 3 in the first game and the second half of the 2nd game.

We just haven’t done as a good as job as we have in past years of defending the 3 imo
Good call.
