We are coming to the time where much of the board gets frustrated with the holiday break. I have never been one who gets frustrated with the break and I think that this year it could have a great benefit with guys getting healthy. It will give us some extra practice and time for conditioning.

I hate that there will be fewer games, but I'm anxious to see how it helps us this year.

I agree, I was thinking about this after the game Saturday. I hate going so long not seeing them play, but I really think it's good for the team this year.

Good thread. Completely agree that this is huge for the team and mostly for Grayson imo. Also good to work Harry and Ques into contact 5 on 5 where possible.

I think it's also big for them mentally. It gives guys a chance to break away for a few days and hang with family and friends before the grind of the conference schedule.

Glad they get time away. Despise the break from Duke ball every year and especially this year where going home means turmoil and drama, with more turmoil and drama. Things like Duke bball are one of my few relaxation moments

Cameron Indoor is going to be on fire when Harry Giles steps foot on the court for the first time in a Duke uniform. can't wait to have everyone available. I also think we start to see Bolden play more like himself next week as well.

Yup and above all else, I'm happy that the guys get some relaxation time in general around this time. This isn't UNC where exam week means absolutely nothing. Just like any other student, our guys deserve some time to theirselves after that stressful period of the semester.

I've always understood the break. There have been years I've looked back and thought 2 games in what usually amounts to 14-17 days turned into a reset that went the wrong direction. Not a soul could argue that the long break will be a positive this season.

I'll have to come up with some threads to keep us from getting bored. OFC
Hey Sky, I know we always have threads of least favorite teams or players. Have we ever done one with least favorite coaches? I have a few in mind haha....just a suggestion.

Yeah, I've always loved special holiday games that Duke has played in the past - but it's good for them to get some rest and practice. There may be some rust going into the VT game on Dec. 31, but this break will be good long term and if all the players are healthy the rest of the year - look out for this team.

I appreciate the Break... I think we need to remember what exams can be like for students in regards to the mental and physical taxing that occurs over those ten days. After my Duke exams, I was a hot mess and needed a few days to decompress. I think K realizes that exams at Duke are a slightly different animal than some other institutions, and schedules accordingly. Here is wishing the best of luck to our boys and the Duke student body on their end of semester exams.
