He’s a stud. Time will tell before I cast my vote as “Cael who?”, but I don’t find that a fair measuring tape. Honestly, for David to be successful, he just needs to keep moving in the same direction he has been moving.
✅✅ recruiting
✅coaching innovation
✅✅PR success
✅RTC priority
✅✅✅funding for the program
✅✅✅✅✅create and rejuvenate enthusiasm in OSU wrestling
David is not Cael, evidenced by his backing the team dual championships,
There’s no denying Cael is in contention for the greatest wrestler of all time, and if he had a stronger freestyle resume, there would be no question, but, at the moment, I prefer David Taylor. Just my opinion.

It’s VERY scientific and a VERY in-depth study. It would take too much time and waaay too many hours to explain. In short, it involves a dart board, many beers and a few psycho ex wrestlers, with a huge side order of “gut-feelings”. 😉
Did we do that in Vegas?

So far so good the real test is big 12s and nationals, smith and company left a good team, let’s see how he peeks them. Lets go Cowboys!
I agree. So far, he's been good. He was handed some really good wrestlers and at this point I feel we have gotten everything we expected out of this team. Only under/over achievers would be Young and Fish. Overall too early to say, let's wait for the real test NCAA's and we'll have our answers.

At this point, one really doesn’t want to peak the team.

If Oklahoma st doesn't have a NCAA Champion this year it will be the longest streak in program history that they haven't had a champ. They've gone 3 years without a champ a few times in the history of the program but never 4. AJ won in 2021. Will Oklahoma st have a NCAA Champion this year and if so who will it be?

Ouch.

This has to be unprecedented. There are FOUR weights with 2 champs in the weight class. And OSU's three (and possibly 4th) best guys are are at those weights (285, 184, 174, 141).

That is bananas.

Feels like Hamiti and Spratley have the best chances. 125 is the most open weight and while Haines and O’toole are studs I think Hamiti has a good shot at them.

I agree he does have a good shot. But I'm not sure he can beat them both in the same tournament. I was gonna say Spratley has the best chance because of the composition of 125

25 is just a crazy weight and always seems to be the toughest to pick? But, that said, Troy can make the finals and possibly win it. Ramos just has the strength of 4, 25 pounders, so a good plan has to be in place.

DJ can beat both of them, with O'toole being the most likely due to the layoff/injury. Not sure if that even matters at the level these guys are at?

As a fan of an opposing team, I am extremely impressed how busy this Board has become since the DT announcement. If I'm not mistaken, this time last year things were slightly active here but mostly quiet. Now, I disappear for 12 hours and come back to so many posts, I find myself scrolling thru them just to play catch up. 👍🏻
