How big would a win on Weds be?

We win and it would seem we are in because it is the one thing missing from our resume. A top 25 road victory. 8 BIG victories with 8 to go (needing only 2-3)and several very winnable games going forward. Also puts us in control of our own destiny and in a reasonable position to contend for a BIG title.

I agree. While 19 wins and a long losing streak heading into Selection Sunday won't do it, I think once NU wins tomorrow and then has a reasonable record the rest of the way (say 3-6), that is going to be enough.

I also think that beating a higher-ranked team - on the road no less - does great things for the metrics. Right now NU is predicted to go 23-8 with one of the losses coming tomorrow. Not only would flipping that loss mean 24-7 instead of 23-8, but some of those other predicted losses may now swing our way as well due to a higher rating. Yes, I know the ratings don't work THAT simply, but it's clear that a win tomorrow would be huge in this respect.

Finally, the team is getting A LOT of notice right now. If they can prove they can tune that out and win in a hostile environment, the sky truly is the limit.

Might as well expect the Cats to finish the year 36-4 and on a 24-game winning streak.

Also huge because in the past with a game of this magnitude ie opportunity to take the next step, we have generally STB. Winning that game would overcome that mountain as well.

Right, that may be most important of all. If NU is ever going to be a big-time team, it will need to regularly win games like tomorrow's.

I think we figure out a way to snatch this win at West Laughingyet, even without Lindsey. BMac is going to have to do some heavy lifting, as is the rest of the team.

Not quite sure you realize it, but Purdue is the best team in the Big 10. We are the only team from the conference that can make the Final 4 as well. You'll find out tomorrow night, with or without Lindsey. That said, I love your coach and your team and I believe you will make your 1st Big Dance this year.
Thanks for clowning IU, now knock off Wisconsin for us please. Boiler Up and good luck Cats

Franchise021, why does Purdue lose so many games to otherwise average opponents? Like Nebraska and Iowa?

Because it's hard to win every game when the bulls eye is on your back. We lack focus at times and are complacent every now and then. Good question that Painter wonders himself, I'm sure. 2 were on the road and in each of the 3 losses a player or 2 had career nights. College basketball. When we play to our potential, we are by far the best team in the Big 10. I think this team has NCAA Title potential, but we will have to really play defense, play hard at all times and get some luck/favorable draw. I've noticed we actually play better when we look at the opponent as a challenge. Typically, other teams stay in the game by fouling the hell out of our. From court players with a lot of play on.
